pH10 is an electronica jungle/drum n bass group currently based in Denver, Colorado and has been churning out records since the late 1990s. Most notably, pH10 was honored as the First Place winner of Jive Magazine's International Songwriting Competition 2005 [1] for the track "Tell Me Why" - a collaboration with hip hop vocalist Pete Miser. pH10's latest recording, "Well Connected" has been called in a Jive Magazine review " the nastiest, noisiest, scariest, loudest and by far the heaviest..." [2]

Biography

pH10 was started by founding members Recone F. Helmut and Clark ov Saturn after they split from industrial rock band, LD-50. [3] [4] Their debut release, "Recone Helmut vs. Clark ov Saturn" was one of the Denver Westword's "20 best recordings to come out of Denver in 1998". [5] Shortly thereafter, Helmut and Saturn signed with Mutant Sound System/ Trumystic Records, toured with Dr. Israel and the Trumystic Sound System throughout Europe, and then relocated to Brooklyn, NY. [6] [7] Saturn eventually split and started working in minimal techno group Socks and Sandals with Nicolas Sauser. Helmut continued to produce albums with vocalist Pete Miser and his new partner, SyBO. pH10 returned to Colorado in 2005.

Auraria Campus

Auraria Campus is an educational facility located near downtown Denver, Colorado in the United States. The campus houses facilities of three separate universities and colleges: the University of Colorado Denver, Community College of Denver (CCD), and Metropolitan State University of Denver. In 2017, there were approximately 54,812 students between the three schools, with rapid growth projected over the next few years. The campus also houses Auraria Higher Education Center, the administrative body that handles parking, maintenance, and janitorial services. The campus is located southwest of downtown, on the east side of the South Platte River and south of Cherry Creek, near the site of the original Auraria mining camp settlement of 1859.

<i>The Changeling</i> (film)

The Changeling is a 1980 Canadian supernatural psychological horror film directed by Peter Medak and starring George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, and Melvyn Douglas. Its plot follows an esteemed New York City composer who relocates to Seattle, where he moves into a mansion he comes to believe is haunted. The screenplay is based upon events that writer Russell Hunter claimed he experienced while he was living in the Henry Treat Rogers mansion in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, in the late 1960s; Hunter served as a co-writer of the film.

The Fray American rock band

The Fray is an American rock band from Denver, Colorado. Formed in 2002 by schoolmates Isaac Slade and Joe King, they achieved success with the release of their debut album, How to Save a Life in 2005, which was certified double platinum by the RIAA and platinum in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. The Fray achieved national success with their first single, "Over My Head ", which became a top ten hit in the United States. The release of their second single, "How to Save a Life", brought the band worldwide fame. The song charted in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 and was a top 5 single in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Slim Cessnas Auto Club Alternative country band

Slim Cessna's Auto Club is an alternative country band formed in 1992 in the American city of Denver, Colorado. The band is considered to be one of the cornerstones of the "Denver Sound" - music which includes elements of country blues, gospel and folk. The 'Auto Club' is sometimes labeled as Americana and as Southern Gothic as well, due to the juxtaposition of apocalyptic and religious imagery with stories concerning alcohol abuse, violence, and relationships gone awry.

<i>Colorado Daily</i>

The Colorado Daily is a newspaper published in Boulder, Colorado, by Prairie Mountain Publishing Co. LLC, a unit of MediaNews Group. The Daily is operated out of the offices of Boulder's Daily Camera newspaper. Originally the student newspaper of the University of Colorado, the Daily became independent in 1970 and has undergone several ownership changes since 2001, coming under the control of the Camera, its former competitor, when it was purchased by the E.W. Scripps Co. in 2005. The newspaper and its website, coloradodaily.com, continue to focus much of their coverage on the university.

Isaac Edward Slade is an American musician and the lead vocalist, main songwriter, pianist and co-founder of Colorado-based rock band The Fray.

<i>Joe Jacksons Jumpin Jive</i> 1981 studio album by Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson's Jumpin' Jive is the fourth studio album by Joe Jackson. Released in 1981, it is a collection of covers of classic 1940s swing and jump blues songs originally performed by musicians such as Louis Jordan and Cab Calloway, the latter of whom's song "Jumpin' Jive" was the eponym for this album.

Adam Cayton-Holland

Adam Cayton-Holland is an American stand-up comedian from Denver, Colorado best known for his work with the comedy trio The Grawlix and their sitcom television series Those Who Can't. Cayton-Holland is also a writer who has been published in numerous regional and national publications; his first book, Tragedy Plus Time: A Tragi-Comic Memoir, received the 2019 Colorado Book Award for Creative Non-Fiction. He is the founder and executive director of High Plains Comedy Festival. As a comic, he is a regular headliner at clubs and colleges throughout the United States and abroad.

Barry Fey was an American rock concert promoter from Colorado who was best known for bringing prominent music acts to the United States for the first time.

Resurrector

Resurrector is an electronic music producer best known as founder of Colorado/San Francisco Dub Hop band Heavyweight Dub Champion and the ethnically diverse Liberation Movement. He is the co-producer of both Heavyweight Dub Champion studio albums and is main creator of the band's philosophical ideology defined by the Last Champion Manifesto, a booklet included with the 2002 album, Survival Guide For The End of Time. Chambers now lives in San Francisco, CA and performs and produces for Heavyweight Dub Champion and Liberation Movement, among others.

Clark Saturn, also known as Clark ov Saturn, is an American musician, DJ, actor, filmmaker, comedian, and executive of the New Kingston Film Festival in New Kingston, New York. As an actor, Saturn was principal in many national and international commercials between 1999 and 2006. He also acted in several student films and self-produced films with friends Heidi Sjursen and Andrew Hubschmann.

Luis José Monge was a convicted mass murderer who was executed in the gas chamber at Colorado State Penitentiary in 1967. Monge was the last inmate to be executed before an unofficial moratorium on execution that lasted for more than four years while most death penalty cases were on appeal, culminating in the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Furman v. Janet Feder is a Denver, Colorado–based composer and guitarist. She is a classically trained guitar player best known for her work in the prepared guitar genre. In addition, Janet Feder is: a lecturer at the University of Colorado; co-curator of MediaLive, an annual festival in Boulder, Colorado; and an Artistic Associate of Square Product Theatre.

New Ben Franklins are a Rock’n’Roll/Americana/Alternative Country band based in Denver, Colorado, USA. The band was formed in 1992 around the songwriting of principal member David DeVoe. New Ben Franklins are active currently in the Colorado music scene, continuing to record albums and perform live.

Mark Sink

Mark Sink is an American photographer best known for romantic portraiture. Some of his most recognizable images include documentation of life and work of artists such as Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, Rene Ricard and other artists from the New York art scene of the 1980s, before returning to Denver. Mark Sink has been exhibiting his work professionally since 1978 to the present day from street art, commercial galleries, museums and other institutions.

Mel and Dorothy Tanner

Dorothy Tanner was an American light sculptor, installation artist, musician, videographer, and spoken word artist based in Denver, Colorado. Her husband, Mel Tanner, was an American light sculptor, painter, installation artist, and videographer. The couple worked very closely for over 40 years. Their main project was the creation of Lumonics that consists of their light sculptures, live projection, video, electronics, and music as a total art installation. Author and art historian, Michael Betancourt, described this visual music performance work as a Gesamtkunstwerk in his book, The Lumonics Theater: The Art of Mel & Dorothy Tanner, published in 2004.

Green Dragon (company)

Green Dragon is a cannabis company founded in 2009 with operations in Colorado and Florida. The company is one of the largest cannabis operations in Colorado and is also known for developing the cannabis strain R4, a Cannabis Cup-winning strain high in cannabidiol (CBD) that is reputed to be one of the parent genetics of the popular CBD strain Charlotte’s Web. In 2015, Green Dragon acquired Breckenridge Cannabis Club, the Breckenridge dispensary that was the subject of CNN’s first-of-its-kind documentary series High Profits. In November 2019, Green Dragon acquired a Florida Medical Marijuana Treatment Center license for cultivation, processing and retail, one of 22 such licenses issued for the tightly regulated Florida state medical cannabis program. Their products are not particularly strong.
