Paa Kofi Ansong is a Ghanaian biochemist, entrepreneur and businessman. He is the co-founder and chairman of venture capital group Investrade International. He serves on several Ghanaian boards including the director of Adehyeman Savings and Loans Company Ltd. He was appointed to the Council of State in February 2017. [1] [2]

Education and working life

Paa Kofi Ansong attended the University of Ghana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. [3] After graduating from university, he traveled outside Ghana and initially worked as a Quality Control Officer with Boots Pharmacy in the United Kingdom. [4] Upon his return to Ghana, he co-founded a venture capital firm, Investrade International Company Limited, with his friend Kwadwo Amoafo in August 1993. [5] He now serves as the chairman of the firm. Due to his experience in private finance and management, he serves on many company boards across the country. They include Adehyeman Savings and Loans Company Ltd, St. Roses Secondary School in Akwatia, Ghana National Procurement Agency and Abossey Okai Spare Parts Association. [4] [3]

Council of State

In February 2017 he was appointed to the council by President Nana Akuffo-Addo. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] During the swearing-in ceremony held at The Flagstaff House, President Akuffo-Addo entreated the council to advise him well with the view to always propel Ghana to greater heights. [11] [12] [13] During the handing over ceremony of the sixth session of the council to the seventh, the outgoing council chair, Naa Prof. John S. Nabila, advised the new house to give their best counsel to the new government to ensure that the country and all its citizens would live in prosperity and peace. [14]

Lord Oblitey Commey is a Ghanaian administrator, entrepreneur and politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the current Director of Operations at the Jubilee House, the official residence and office of the President of Ghana. He has served as an executive member of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club and is a former youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party.

Nana Bediatuo Asante is a Ghanaian administrator, lawyer and consultant. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party. He is the current Executive Secretary to the President of Ghana and the Apagyahene of Akyem Abuakwa.

Nana Otuo Siriboe is a Ghanaian traditional ruler, electrical engineer and entrepreneur. He is the Omanhene of the Juaben traditional area. He has served in several capacities in chieftaincy affairs and held many Government of Ghana appointments. He is currently the Chairman of the eighth Council of State of the Fourth Republic.

The Oti Region is one of the six newly created regions of Ghana in December 2018. The region was carved out of the northern part of the Volta Region and will be in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Prior to the 2016 Ghanaian general election, the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo declared that when elected, he would explore the possibility of creating new regions out of some of the existing regions in Ghana in order to bring government closer to citizens. The Region was inaugurated on May 14, 2019. It has Dambai as its Regional Capital. The people of Oti region have for more than 60 years always wanted to have a region of their own before its creation in 2018 by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government in December 2018.

The Savannah Region is a newly proposed region to be created in Ghana. The region will have administrative and governmental legislature like any of the ten already existing regions in Ghana. The region will be carved out of the northern part of the Northern Region. This will be a fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Nana Kofi Obiri Egyir II is a Ghanaian businessman and traditional ruler. He is the Sanaahene of the Oguaa traditional area. He owns the hospitality facility Sanaa Lodge in the Central Region of Ghana. He was appointed to the Council of State by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in February 2017. He was once the national treasurer of the Popular Front Party.

Her Ladyship JusticeGertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo is a Ghanaian judge. She was nominated to the Supreme Court in November 2019 and received parliamentary approval in December 2019. She was sworn in on 17 December 2019. She was one of the first Justices of the Commercial Division of the High Court and has been active in the core reform agenda and activities of the Judiciary and Judicial Service of Ghana since 2005. She was nominated to the office of Chief Justice in April 2023 to replace Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah who retired as Chief Justice on May 24, 2023. She was sworn into office as the 15th Chief Justice of Ghana on 12 June 2023.
