Pairote Puangchan is a Thai retired footballer who played as a defender. He represented Thailand at the 1992 Asian Cup.
Pairote has a son, Thitiphan, who is also a national footballer.
Police Tero Football Club, formerly known as BEC-Tero Sasana Football Club is a Thai professional football club based in Bangkok. The Thai League 1, often referred to as T1, is the top level of the Thai football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2. Seasons run from August to May, with each team playing 30 games. It is sponsored by Toyota Motor Thailand and therefore officially known as the Hilux Revo Thai League. In the Thai League, most of the games are played during Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Thai League 4, commonly known as the T4, was the fourth level association football league in Thailand. In 2009, it was divided into five groups by geographic region. Each group contained 16 clubs except for the Southern Region group which contained 13 clubs. It was sponsored by AIS and therefore officially known as the AIS Regional League Division 2. In 2016, Khor Royal Cup became a trophy for Regional League Division 2. In 2017, Football Association of Thailand rebranded the league to Thai League 4.

Football at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games was held at Singapore National Stadium, Jalan Besar Stadium and Bishan Stadium, Singapore from 29 May to 15 June 2015. Medals were awarded in one event for men's competitions. There were match-fixing scandals involving East Timor team with several other teams.
Group A of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup took place from 5 to 14 January 2019. The group consisted of tournament hosts United Arab Emirates, Thailand, India and Bahrain. The top two teams, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand, along with third-placed Bahrain, advanced to the round of 16.
In June and July 2018, a junior association football team were rescued from the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand. Twelve members of the team, aged 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old assistant coach entered the cave on 23 June after a practice session. Shortly after they entered, heavy rainfall began and partially flooded the cave system, blocking their way out and trapping them deep within.
The 2020–21 season was BG Pathum United F.C.'s first season back in the Thai League 1 after being promoted from the 2019 Thai League 2 as winners.
