Bandra also known as Vandre is an upscale coastal suburb located in Mumbai, India. The suburb is located to the immediate north of the Mithi River, which separates Bandra from Mumbai City district. It is the third-largest commercial hub in Maharashtra, after Mumbai & Pune, primarily aided by the Bandra Kurla Complex. Originally, Bandra was larger in size when present day Khar was also a part of it. Almost a century ago, it was considered too large a suburb to be served by one railway station. Therefore, the Khar Road railway station was established in 1924, to give the northern part of Bandra closer access to the Western Railway line. This eventually led to Khar being considered a separate suburb. But to this day, the two adjoined suburbs make up one homogenous zone. Several prominent citizens of Mumbai, who are active in Bollywood, Media, Cricket and Politics reside in this area.

Castella de Aguada, also known as the Bandra Fort, is a fort located in Bandra, Mumbai. "Castella" is a misspelling for Portuguese "Castelo" (castle), although it seems its Portuguese builders actually called it Forte de Bandorá. It is located at Land's End in Bandra. It was built by the Portuguese in 1640 as a watchtower overlooking Mahim Bay, the Arabian Sea and the southern island of Mahim. The strategic value of the fort was enhanced in 1661 after the Portuguese ceded the seven islands of Bombay that lay to the immediate south of Bandra to the English. The name indicates its origin as a place where fresh water was available in the form of a fountain ("Aguada") for Portuguese ships cruising the coasts in the initial period of Portuguese presence. The fort lies over several levels, from sea level to an altitude of 24 metres (79 ft). Castella de Aguada has been featured in several Hindi films, such as Dil Chahta Hai and Buddha Mil Gaya.
The Bandra–Worli Sea Link is a 5.6 km long, 8-lane wide bridge that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai. It is the 4th longest bridge in India after Bhupen Hazarika Setu, Dibang River Bridge and Mahatma Gandhi Setu. It is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts on either side. It was planned as a part of the proposed Western Freeway that would link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district, but is now planned to become part of the Coastal Road to Kandivali.
Khar is an affluent suburb of Mumbai, north of Bandra and south of Santacruz, Mumbai. Originally one of the 'villages' that made up the larger Bandra, the present suburb is divided into Khar West and Khar East areas. It is serviced by Khar Road railway station of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It is an area within convenient distances of several schools, restaurants, parks, promenades and shopping centres. Khar bears the Mumbai Postal Index Number 400052.
Pali Naka is an area in Bandra-Khar. The Pali Hill locality is famous as the residence of several Bollywood film stars.
Bandra Fair is a week-long fair held annually in the Bandra suburb of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It starts on 8 September at the Mount Mary Church, Bandra, the feast day of the Nativity of Mary, the virgin-mother of Jesus Christ, who is referred to as Saibini in vernacular. The Bandra Fair is estimated to be around 300 years old. The fair started when a statue of Mother Mary was found floating in the Arabian Sea between 1700 and 1760, which, according to a legend, a Koli fisherman had dreamt about a few years earlier. Monti Fest celebrated by Goans and Mangaloreans is similar to the Bandra Fest, and coincides with the Nativity of Our Lady.
The Western Suburbs is the western precinct of the city of Mumbai, India. The Western Suburbs consist of Andheri, Bandra, Bhayander, Borivali, Dahisar, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Juhu, Kandivali, Khar, Malad, Mira Road, Santacruz and Vile Parle. Geographically, the Western Suburbs lie at the western part of Salsette Island, is a continuous suburban sprawl spanning the areas from Bandra to Bhayander, which is separated by the Vasai Creek from Vasai-Virar city and Mithi River from Mumbai city.
The Carter Road Promenade is a 1.25 kilometre-long walkway along the sea on the western coast of Mumbai, India. This promenade was opened up to the public in January 2002. The promenade has been managed by the Bandra West Residents' Association. The Carter Road Promenade extends up to Khar Danda.
Maharashtra Swaraj Party (MSP) is a regional political party formed by the Christian community native to Mumbai (Bombay) city and the Greater Bombay Metropolitan Area, in the Konkan division of India. The party's name draws inspiration from the phrase "Swaraj is my birthright", coined by a Bombay East Indian freedom fighter and Mumbai's first mayor of Indian origin, Joseph "Kaka" Baptista. Baptista was an associate and a confidant of Lokmanya Tilak who made the phrase popular. The organisation, aimed at representing the East Indian community, was initiated by various local NGO's like Watchdog Foundation, Mobai Gaothan Panchayat, Bombay East Indian Association, Vakola Advanced Locality Management, Kalina Civic Forum& the Kolovery Welfare Association. MSP plans expand to the rest of Maharashtra.
Sacred Heart Church is located on S. V. Road in Santa Cruz (Mumbai), Mumbai. The church, founded in 1936, is a Grade III heritage structure. The church has 8,000 parishioners and is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bombay.
Asif Zakaria is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress. Zakaria represents the Bandra Mumbai constituency and is a three-term Corporator.
Villages in Bandra, Mumbai are in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai, part of what has been called the Queen of Suburbs of Mumbai. Home to a number of personalities from the film industry as well as cricket, it is one of the most affluent suburbs of Mumbai. The old villages of Bandra are hidden behind the tall buildings and shopping malls of the area. The old villages pakhadis of Bandra, originally twenty-four of them, were one of the earliest of settlements in Bandra.
Bombay and Bandra Bakar Kasai Jamat Mosques Trust is a three hundred (300) years old trust public trust based in Mumbai. This trust was constructed and is currently maintained the Jama Masjid, Bandra. It is one of the oldest trust of India.
