Keir Francis Nuttall is a Brisbane-based guitarist-singer-songwriter. He is a founding mainstay member of the rock trio, Transport, which formed in 2001. He married Australian singer-songwriter and actor, Kate Miller-Heidke, in 2007. Since 2004 he has performed and recorded in her backing band. Nuttall's songs have been recorded by Miller-Heidke, including her singles, "Space They Cannot Touch", "Words" and other tracks on her debut album, Little Eve. As Franky Walnut, Nuttall performs comic songs such as, "Where Have I Been All Your Life?" and "Three Word Review", both of which he recorded. His first solo album, The Franky Walnut Reflective Drink Coaster (2013), was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release in 2014.
Edward Guglielmino is an Australian musician, disc jockey, public speaker, academic, and blogger based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He currently is a member of musical groups the Thin Kids and Lost of Love, but is best known for his own solo music career and has commercially released three albums.
Conditions is the debut studio album by Australian rock band The Temper Trap, released in Australia through Liberation Music on 19 June 2009. It was later released in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2009. The album debuted at number nine on the Australian Albums Chart, where it has been certified platinum, and peaked at number 25 on the UK Albums Chart, largely due to the success of the debut single "Sweet Disposition", which peaked at number six on the singles chart. The song "Science of Fear" was featured in the EA Sports video game FIFA 10 and the Codemasters racing game DiRT 2, while the song "Fader" was featured in the Eden Games racing game Test Drive Unlimited 2.
Corroboration, or Corroboration: A Journey Through the Musical Landscape of 21st Century Australia, is a 2001 compilation album by various Australian artists which was released on the Festival Mushroom Records imprint, Sputnik. It was the result of a project put together by Kurt Luthy. It brought together Indigenous and non-Indigenous musicians and bands from various genres, with the majority of the songs especially written for the compilation. It reached No. 92 on ARIA Top 100 Albums chart.
26 (also written as 26 (The Band), [26] and 26(Twenty Six)) is an Australian musical outfit founded in 2004 by friends Nick O'Donnell (lead vocals/guitar) and Drew Fellows (keyboardist/vocals), who later recruited Ross Duckworth (bass/vocals) and Iain Wilson (drums/vocals). Originally categorised as indie rock, 26 has since employed a variety of guest artists and choirs to produce a sound that is unique to the band.
Tylea is an Australian singer and songwriter. She started out as a solo performer, releasing the EPs Bellowing Flower (1994) and Tylea with a T in 1997, and went on to become the singer and guitarist for Gota Cola. After Gota Cola took a break she released a self-titled EP in 2003 with Tylea and the Imaginary Music Score, a band featuring Magoo and Marcel Lip. Her 2005 debut solo album Colour Your Insecurities was a double album with two CDs of Light and Dark songs.
The John Steel Singers were an Australian six-piece band from Brisbane, Queensland, named after a toy horse that band member Tim Morrissey named John Steel. They were formed in 2007 when Morrissey and Scott Bromiley decided to start making music together and were soon joined by Ross Chandler, Pete Bernoth, Pat McDermott and Luke McDonald. The band released an EP and a mini album independently before signing with Levi's Jeans' record label Levity and releasing another EP, In Colour. The band has had multiple tracks on rotation on Triple J, won a Triple J Unearthed competition and became the Unearthed Artist of the Year in 2008. The band's song 'Overpass' placed 52nd in the 2010 Hottest 100.
Sekiden were an Australian three-piece pop band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 1998 by Simon Graydon on lead guitar and vocals, Mirko Vogel on drums and his sister Seja on keyboards and lead vocals. They released two studio albums, Junior Fiction (2003) and Sound Instincts (2006), before disbanding in the following year. Seja Vogel was a touring member of Regurgitator from 2007 to 2009 and then worked as a solo artist to issue two albums, We Have Secrets But Nobody Cares (2010) and All Our Wires (2013).
The Medics are an Australian rock band formed in Cairns, Queensland in 2007. In April 2010 they moved to Brisbane. The band were formed by Emma Andrews, Jhindu Lawrie, Charles Thomas and Kahl Wallis. They later expanded to a five-piece with Andrew Thomson joining. Andrews left the band, reducing it back to four members. They are mentored by Lawrie's father, Coloured Stone's Bunna Lawrie.
Andrew Morris is a musician from Brisbane, Queensland. He is a former member of Palladium and is part of The Wilson Pickers, performs in a duo with Danny Widdicombe and has a solo career. In 2008 he won the Grant McLennan Memorial Scholarship.
Weekend is the seventh studio album by Australian indie rock/electronic band Underground Lovers, the band's first after a 12-year hiatus. It followed a reunion for Sydney and Melbourne performances at the 2009 Homebake festival and the release of their 2011 retrospective album, Wonderful Things. A Rubber Records media release said: "This led to sporadic carefully selected shows and the realisation that the band still had something to say."
The Go is the fourth and final studio album by Australian band Skunkhour. It was released in 2001. "Home" was released as a single in 1999 and two further singles were taken from the album—"Gold Radiation" and "Kick in the Door".
Sarah Calderwood is an Australian singer-songwriter and flautist who unites classic with contemporary folk.
Jason Peter Walker is a New Zealand-Australian country musician and writer. His third album, Ceiling Sun Letters was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Country Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010.
Andy Cowan is an Australian blues soul pianist and singer. He was nominated for the 2001 ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album with 10.30 Thursdays.
Jackie Marshall is an Australian singer-songwriter, composer, record producer and actor. While her musical training is in jazz vocals, her work is more commonly described as alt-country, folk, and rock.
