Pamela Casey is an American politician. A member of the Alabama Republican Party, she has served as the District Attorney for Blount County since 2010.

Early life

Casey was born in Boaz, Alabama, but grew up in Snead, Alabama. [1]

Career

Casey was first elected as the Blount County District Attorney in 2010, becoming the first woman elected to countywide office in decades. [1] She was also the youngest ever person elected to the office. [2] [3]

In 2023, she criticized the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles for failing to monitor violent inmates released from Alabama prisons. [4] [5] In 2025, she said that the Blount County sheriff threatened to harass her over her prosecution of a friend of the sheriff. [6] She was named District Attorney of the Year by the Alabama District Attorney's Association. [7]

2026 Attorney General election

Casey announced her run for Attorney General in January 2025. [8] [9] She loaned $500,000 to her campaign in September 2025. [10]

Personal life

Casey married Bobby Austin on May 29, 2017. [11] She has had two children through the use of in vitro fertilization. [12]
