Politics of Bangladesh takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic,whereby the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of government,and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The Constitution of Bangladesh was written in 1972 and has undergone seventeen amendments.
Sheikh Hasina Wazed is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as the tenth prime minister of Bangladesh from June 1996 to July 2001 and again since January 2009. She is the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,the founding father and first president of Bangladesh. Having served for a combined total of over 19 years,she is the longest serving prime minister in the history of Bangladesh. As of 24 May 2024,she is the world's longest-serving female head of government.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 29 December 2008. The two main parties in the election were the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP),led by Khaleda Zia,and the Bangladesh Awami League Party,led by Sheikh Hasina. The Bangladesh Awami League Party formed a fourteen-party Grand Alliance including Ershad's Jatiya Party,while the BNP formed a four-party alliance which included the Islamist party Jamaat-e-Islami. The election was originally scheduled for January 2007,but it was postponed by a military-controlled caretaker government for an extended period of time.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 12 June 1996. The result was a victory for the Bangladesh Awami League,which won 146 of the 300 directly elected seats,beginning Sheikh Hasina's first-term as Prime Minister. Voter turnout was 74.96%,the highest to date. This election was the second to be held in 1996,following controversial elections held in February a few months earlier.

In January 2019,he appointed as the Bangladesh Minister of Information. Currently he is the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh and a joint secretary of BAL.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He is the incumbent Minister of Textiles and Jute of Bangladesh and the incumbent Member of Parliament representing the Dhaka-13 constituency since January 2024. Nanak is also Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League. He was the president of the Bangladesh Jubo League and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Abul Hasnat Abdullah is a Bangladesh Awami League Politician and a Member of Parliament for Barisal-1 constituency. He is an Executive Committee Member of Bangladesh Awami League Central Committee.
