Panic Years is an alternative/indie rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Panic Years was formed by Edward Everett and Amy Miller in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2008. After forming, they decided to relocate and visited a few cities before deciding on Philadelphia as their favorite. [4]
In 2009, the band was chosen by Philadelphia Weekly to perform at the Concerts in the Park series in Rittenhouse Square. [5] In 2010, Panic Years was one of 5 winners of the Musikfest Amped Up competition, earning a chance to perform at the annual music festival in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. [6] Later that year, they were chosen as a finalist in the WZZO Backyard Bands competition in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2011, the band performed at the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party, along with The Airborne Toxic Event and The Naked and Famous. [7]
"Sea Change" and "Farther" have both had radio success and the band has had licensing contracts with MTV and E! to play songs from their first EP on reality shows like "The City" and "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." [8]
The band recorded their debut LP, The Month's Mind, in Fall 2011, which was released on June 12, 2012. The band states that large portions of the album were directly influenced by the book Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse. The band co-produced the album with producer and engineer Mark Padgett, who plays bass in the band Mae. [9]
The band combines passionate vocals, soft-then-loud transitions, clangy guitars and catchy melodies. [10] WonkaVision Magazine praised the "catchy choruses" and "big riffs" on their eponymous debut EP. [11] Katherine Silkaitis of Philadelphia Weekly describes their sound as a, "blend of late-‘90s alt-rock, lurching math-rock rhythms and ‘90s emo à la Mineral and Braid." [12] Other comparisons include Foo Fighters and Silversun Pickups. [13]

Musikfest is an American music festival that has been held annually since 1984 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is the nation's largest non-gated free music festival. The festival begins on the first Friday in August, though it has been preceded since 2015 with a Thursday preview night involving the premium stage and adjacent areas. The festival ends the second Sunday thereafter.
Robert Hazard was an American musician. He wrote, composed, and recorded the song "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in 1979, which was covered in 1983 by Cyndi Lauper, who turned it into a best-selling hit. He also composed the new-wave and MTV songs "Escalator of Life" and "Change Reaction", which he performed with his band, Robert Hazard and the Heroes, that was popular in the Philadelphia club scene during the 1980s. These songs appeared on the five song EP Robert Hazard, released in June 1982 by his own record label "RHA Records", and the next November by major label RCA Records. RCA released his first LP album, Wing of Fire, in January 1984.
"Golden Retriever" is a song by Super Furry Animals. It was the first single to be issued from the album Phantom Power and reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart on its release in July 2003. The song is about the relationship between singer Gruff Rhys's girlfriend's two dogs and was written in the same key, with the same guitar tuning and around the same time as several other songs from Phantom Power.
The DC101 Chili Cook-Off is an annual rock concert sponsored by Washington, D.C. / Baltimore, Maryland radio station WWDC (FM). Proceeds from the concert, traditionally held in Washington, D.C. in mid-to-late May, are donated to the National Capital Area chapter of the National Kidney Foundation. The name originates from the chili competition that used to occur during the event. Unlike what the name implies, some recent events did not actually offer any chili, though in 2013 chili was offered in three different booths.

A Great Big Pile of Leaves is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, currently signed to Topshelf Records. It was founded by guitarist/singer Pete Weiland and drummer Tyler Soucy, who began creating and recording their music in 2007. After the release of their first two EPs The Fiery Works and The Fiery Works II, Tucker Yaro joined the group. The trio then recorded their first full-length album, Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex?. In November 2011, the band released two EPs entitled Boom! and Live from the Living Room with Topshelf Records. The Relapse Symphony is an American rock band formed in Washington, DC, in 2012. After gaining a social media presence and chatter about their debut, the band released its debut EP "Time's Running Out" in 2012 and their first full length album "Shadows" in 2014. Their latter album "Born to Burn" accompanied the announcement of their addition to Vans Warped Tour in 2015. Upon the completion of Vans Warped Tour, TRS completed two back to back tours, followed by an abrupt hiatus.
The Theory of Everything is the second studio album by Life On Planet 9, the pseudonym used by American hard rock band Lo-Pro when releasing music of a more experimental sound. The first album under the moniker, Bittersweet, had been more of an outlet for Lo-Pro's acoustic songs that had taken on too many electronic rock elements to be billed an acoustic album. The Theory of Everything largely disavows the acoustic elements in favor of electronic elements coupled with melodic guitar-work. It was released on August 26, 2014.
