Osmium is the debut album of American funk band Parliament, led by George Clinton. Apollo Heights is an American shoegazing band that was formed in New York City in 2002. Consisting mainly of twin brothers Daniel and Danny Chavis, they play experimental rock music. They cite AR Kane and My Bloody Valentine as a major inspiration. Their debut album White Music For Black People was produced by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins and features guest appearances from Mos Def, Lady Kier, David Sitek of TV on the Radio, Mike Ladd and Guthrie himself on guitar. The Chavis brothers were members of the alternative soul group The Veldt who released three albums on Polygram, Mammoth and Capitol Records. Although the Veldt is left out of references on the Chapel Hill music scene, they were a key band during the heyday of North Carolina music along with other bands of the time like Metal Flake Mother, Superchunk and Dillon Fence.
Howlin Rain is an American rock band based in Oakland, California, formed in 2004 by guitarist/singer Ethan Miller. Their most recent album The Dharma Wheel was released in 2021. Their sound has been described as "classically soulful" and "Unapologetically influenced by the strong but easygoing grooves of West Coast 1970s rock".
Daphne Loves Derby were an American Indie rock band that formed in Kent, Washington, in 2001. They have released three studio albums, the third in 2007 titled Good Night, Witness Light, peaking at number 30 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. The band was featured on Billboard's official website following the release of the album.

Swahili Blonde is an experimental musical project formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. Founded by former WEAVE! drummer and vocalist Nicole Turley, violinist and bassist Laena Myers-Ionita, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and multi-instrumentalists Stella Mozgawa and Michael Quinn. Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and Turley's now ex-husband, John Frusciante, performs guitar on the band's recordings, and did perform alongside the group at their debut performance, while he was briefly a full-time band member.
Jennette McCurdy is the self-titled second extended play by the American singer and actress Jennette McCurdy, released on February 8, 2012, by Capitol Records Nashville. Originally scheduled for release on January 24, 2012, Jennette McCurdy was released exclusively as a CD to Justice stores to promote McCurdy's then-upcoming eponymous debut studio album. Songs previously released on her debut EP, Not That Far Away, were included along with her 2011 single, "Generation Love" and material previously not released.
Heliotropes were a psychedelic/alternative rock band from Brooklyn, New York, consisting of Richard Thomas (bass), Cici Harrison (drums), Amber Myers and Jessica Numsuwankijkul. They formed in 2009 when Numsuwankijkul posted an advert on Craigslist to form a band. She was joined by Amber Myers, Cici Harrison, Richard Thomas and Nya Abudu later joined the band.
