Parachinar or Pāṛačinār is a small Pashtun town which is the capital of Kurram District in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Beliamen is a village in Kurram Agency in north west Pakistan, not far from the border with Afghanistan. The closest main town is Parachinar. The village has been home to many Afghan settlers as well as Bangash tribes. It is situated at about 50 km from Parachinar the capital of Kurram.

The Kurram Agency War began on 6 April 2007 in Kurram Agency, Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Pakistan when a Sunni gunman on a Friday prayer held by Shia in Parachinar. It left more than 40 people dead and more than 150 people wounded . Tension had been brewing in the area adjacent to the Afghan border since April 1 when the sectarian group Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat taking part in Mawlid when some of Sunni people having guns shot the Shia people.

Tari Mangal is a town in the Kurram Valley at the Durand Line, near Spin Ghar, which is a part of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Pakistan. Tari Mangal is 23 kilometres (14 mi) away from Parachinar, and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the town of Aryob in Zazi District, Afghanistan. The Pashtun tribe Mangal has been living in Tari Mangal since 1600 AD. From 1977–1988, during the Soviet–Afghan War, the city served as a Mujahideen camp. Weapons and funds from the United States, en route to Pakistan, were delivered to Afghanistan through the border at Tari Mangal, as well as its neighbouring region Torkham. Due to Tari Mangal's normal weather in summer, many people from hot areas in Pakistan visit Tari Mangal to enjoy cold weather.

Karakhela or Kara khel is a village about kilometre from West of Parachinar City and about 10 kilometers to the East Pak Afghan Border, the famous Durand Line. According to the Census of Pakistan, 2017 Village List Karakhela has 3,934 personal population with 389 houses. The District Kurram was known as Kurram Agency, Federally Administered Tribal Area Pakistan. The Famous Shalozan is on north and Nastikot village is in South.Popular native plant is Elaeagnus angustifolia commonly known as silver berry or Russian olives(Sinzalay). Karakhela used to have a gross production of Artemisia kurramensis(Tharkha). Which is a medicinal plant broadly used in medicine. Literacy rate is inclining now. Village Karakhela have produced several Engineers, Army officers and few doctors as well. Pure drinking water is a problem in whole district kurram but village Karakhela is suffering far worse since ages. Government really need to focus on this village.

On 21 January 2017, a bomb was detonated at a vegetable market in Parachinar, in the Kurram Valley of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. At least 25 people were killed and 87 injured by the explosion. Parachinar is the administrative headquarters of the Kurram Agency near the Afghan border. The same area has previously seen several blasts in 2008, February 2012, September 2012, 2013 and in December 2015.
The 2007 Parachinar bombing occurred on 4 August 2007. At least 12 people were killed and more than 43 injured after Ghayor Khan Chamkani, a suicide bomber, detonated a Toyota Corolla near the Eidgah Market and Peshawar bus terminal in Parachinar, the capital city of Kurram Agency and the largest city in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas in northwest Pakistan. The Pakistani Taliban local splinter Sunni militant group claimed responsibility.
