Parow Manor

Parow is a village a few miles north of Stralsund in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is part of the municipality Kramerhof. First traces of settlements can be traced back to the Stone Age, based on findings of arrow heads, wedges and fireplaces. The German Navy's Engineering School (Marinetechnikschule) is at Parow. It moved from Kiel in 2002. The Minentaucher train there. [1]

The fleet school Flottenschule “Walter Steffens” in Parow, Germany, was the training center for non-commissioned officers and men of the Volksmarine of the German Democratic Republic. It was established in 1950 as the Seepolizeischule Parow and renamed on 1 December 1970, after its founder as Fleet School Walter Steffens. It was disbanded after German reunification in 1990. In 1992 the Marinetechnikschule of the Bundesmarine was established on this site.

The Marinetechnikschule (MTS) in Parow is an engineering school of the German Navy. The school has existed in its current form since 1996 and is the largest training facility in the German Navy. She is subordinate to the operational support commander in the naval command in Rostock, but is technically assigned to the local head of personnel, training, organization.
