Pascal Daoust is a Canadian ice hockey executive, the first and current general manager of New York of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).

Career

Daoust received a bachelor's degree in physical education from the Université de Montréal in 1999. [1] He was an assistant coach for their women's hockey program from 2010 to 2016, winning two national championships in that time. [2] He also served as assistant coach of Les Canadiennes de Montreal in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. [3]

Following his time with the Carabins, Daoust was general manager of the Val-d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, also serving as interim head coach on multiple occasions. [4] He oversaw a run to the President's Cup finals in 2021, [5] but was fired in February 2023 after multiple disappointing seasons. [6]

Turning down an offer to work on the development staff of a National Hockey League team, Daoust was hired as the first general manager of New York in the newly-created Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). [3]

The Hockey collégial féminin RSEQ is considered to be the highest level of young women's ice hockey in the Quebec collegiate system. The Lynx du cégep Édouard-Montpetit women's ice hockey team, previously Lynx du Collège Édouard-Montpetit, represents Cégep Édouard-Montpetit in the Hockey collégial féminin RSEQ of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ). The team is based in Longueuil, in the southern Greater Montreal metropolitan area in Quebec and their home venue is the Aréna Émile-Butch-Bouchard.

The 2010-11 season was the Carabins second season in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's ice hockey championship (CIS). The Carabins ranked in second place in the Quebecois conference behind the McGill Martlets. In the 2011 playoffs, the Carabins eliminated the Concordia Stingers but the Carabins are in turn to eliminate in finale by McGill. The Carabins were unable to qualify for the 2011 CIS Canadian championships.

The Montreal Carabins women's ice hockey team defend the colours of the Université de Montréal and are members of the Quebec Student Sports Federation (RSEQ), and compete for the Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's ice hockey championship. One Carabins player have participated internationally, including the World Student Games. Home games are contested at l'aréna du CEPSUM. In addition, the Women's ice hockey team are connected to the club Montreal Carabins.

Marion Allemoz is a French retired professional ice hockey forward. She was the first French player to play professional women's ice hockey in North America as a member of Les Canadiennes de Montréal of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) from 2016 to 2018.

Gilles Bouchard is a Canadian ice hockey coach with the Sherbrooke Phoenix in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) He previously coached the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the QMJHL for five seasons. He also served as an assistant coach with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL) for five seasons. In the 2015–16 QMJHL season, he led the Huskies to the Jean Rougeau Trophy as regular season champions, the President's Cup as playoffs champions, and reached the final in the 2016 Memorial Cup. After that season, Bouchard was awarded the Ron Lapointe Trophy as the QMJHL Coach of the Year, the Maurice Filion Trophy as the QMJHL Executive of the Year, and the Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award for the Canadian Hockey League.

The 2020–21 QMJHL season was the 52nd season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season began on October 2, 2020, and ended on April 18, 2021.
