Patricia A. Noland (born December 30,1945) is an American politician who served in the Arizona House of Representatives from the 13th district from 1989 to 1993 and in the Arizona Senate from the 13th district from 1993 to 1997. The Spanish missions in the Sonoran Desert are a series of Jesuit Catholic religious outposts established by the Spanish Catholic Jesuits and other orders for religious conversions of the Pima and Tohono O'odham indigenous peoples residing in the Sonoran Desert. Dr. Gabriel Trujillo is the superintendent,appointed on September 12,2017 by the Governing Board. As of 2016,TUSD had more than 47,670 students. As of Fall 2012,according to Superintendent John Pedicone,TUSD had 50,000 students. District enrollment has declined over the last 10 years and TUSD lost 1,700 to 2,000 students per year for the two or three years prior to 2012.

Old Tucson (formerly Old Tucson Studios) is an American movie studio and theme park just west of Tucson,Arizona,adjacent to the Tucson Mountains and close to the western portion of Saguaro National Park. Built in 1939 for the movie Arizona (1940),it has been used for the filming location of many movies and television westerns since then,such as Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957),Rio Bravo(1959),El Dorado (1966),Little House on the Prairie TV series of the 1970s–1980s,the film Three Amigos! (1986) and the popular film Tombstone (1993). It was opened to the public in 1960 as a theme park with historical tours offered about the movies filmed there,along with live cast entertainment featuring stunt shows,shootouts,can-can shows...as well as themed events. It is still a popular filming location used by Hollywood. It was closed permanently during Covid-19 but has recently re-opened under new management in early 2023.
Tucson Speedway is a 0.375 mi (604 m) paved oval racetrack located at the Pima County Fairgrounds,off Interstate 10 just south of Tucson,Arizona. It is one of only three paved ovals in the state of Arizona.
Matthew G. Heinz is an American doctor and politician. A Democrat,he was appointed by President Barack Obama in June 2013 as Director of Provider Outreach in the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs,a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Heinz was tasked with helping Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act,with one aspect of his job to work with LGBT organizations across the country as they inform their members of their options in each state. For one or two weekends per month,Heinz continued his work as a hospitalist in Tucson,Arizona. Heinz left the position in March 2015.
Fort Lowell was a United States Army post active from 1873 to 1891 on the outskirts of Tucson,Arizona. Fort Lowell was the successor to Camp Lowell,an earlier Army installation. The Army chose a location just south of the confluence of the Tanque Verde and Pantano creeks,at the point where they form the Rillito River,due to the year-round supply of water during that period. The Hohokam natives had chosen the site centuries earlier,presumably for the same reason. To this day,shards of Hohokam pottery can still be found in the area. The Army claimed a military reservation that encompassed approximately eighty square miles and extended east toward the Rincon Mountains.
