Patrick Goodman (born 1970) is an American mental health therapist serving as the first gentlemen of Arizona since 2023 as the husband of Governor Katie Hobbs.
Goodman was born in 1970. [1] He earned a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in counseling from Arizona State University in 1998. [2]
Goodman is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) specializing in supporting youth and families affected by trauma and grief. He provides outpatient assessment, treatment planning, and individual and family therapy for young people with medical challenges and co-occurring emotional concerns. He has also offered clinical consultation services for inpatient psychiatric units. [2] [3]
Over the course of his career, Goodman has worked as a certified infant/toddler mental health specialist, a registered play therapist, and a certified crisis worker. [2] [4]
Goodman works at the Phoenix Children's Hospital. [5]
Following Katie Hobbs’s inauguration as governor in January 2023, Goodman became the first gentlemen of the state. [6] [7] In this role, he has represented the governor’s office at ceremonial events and public functions.
