Patrick Henry O'Loughlin was an Irish born 19th-century outfielder who played in Major League Baseball. Sometimes credited as Patrick Loughlin or simply "Loughlin", he appeared in one game at right field for the 1883 Baltimore Orioles of the American Association. In that game, he got two hits in five at bats.

This work was dedicated to Bishop Aedh of Slébte, who was also the one who suggested the biography be written, and was the patron for the work. Muirchú's work is of little historical value in relation to the distant fifth century, but is a useful source for the time in which he lived and how Patrick was viewed in the seventh century.

He played nine years in Major League Baseball, principally as a pitcher and outfielder, for five different major league clubs.
