Clonguish GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club in Newtownforbes, County Longford, Ireland. The club was formed on 20 October 1889 and was originally called Clonguish Gallowglasses. Situated in the west of County Longford, it is bordered by four parishes in County Longford, Drumlish, Killoe, Killashee and Templemichael (Longford) – the parish also shares a common boundary with the Province of Connacht in that it adjoins the parishes of Bornacoola and Gortletteragh in County Leitrim and Tarmonbarry in County Roscommon. David Barden is a Gaelic footballer from County Longford, Ireland. He was a member of the Longford county team between 2002 and 2013. He won two O'Byrne Shield medals in 2006 and 2007. In 2011, he helped Longford overcome Roscommon in the National Football League Div 4 final at Croke Park. In 2012, Longford were back at Croke Park, this time for the Div 3 final and again won beating Wexford.
Brendan Barden was a Gaelic footballer from County Longford, Ireland. He was part of the Longford team that won a National Football League title in 1966 as captain, an O'Byrne Cup in 1965 and a Leinster Senior Football title in 1968. In 1962 he played on the winning Leinster Railway Cup team. In 1966 he was a Leinster All-Star footballer and won a Cú Chulainn Award.
