His astrological prediction shows began airing in Puerto Rico, eventually spreading to Latin America and the United States. Walter became known as a cultural phenomenon in the Hispanic community.

He died early in the morning of February 2, 2014, from kidney failure which in turn led to cardiac and respiratory arrest.
