Paul Kim & Sons is a trio of pianists led by Paul Kim, an American classical pianist. The ensemble is composed of the father and sons pianists Paul Kim, Matthew Kim and James Kim. [1] [2] In 1995, Paul and Matthew Kim made their formal debut as a father-and-son piano duo with a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall. With the addition of the younger son James, the trio has performed in benefit concerts around the world for the Music Angels International Foundation.

The trio is known for performing a wide repertoire of works from the classical canon, twentieth-century avant-garde compositions, jazz standards and musicals. The instrumental arrangements written by Paul Kim for their performances range from one piano with four hands, two pianos with four hands, to two pianos with six hands. [3]

Among the recordings members of the group have released include Vision de l’Amen by Olivier Messiaen, [4] as well as Symphony No. 9 and 15 Variations with Fugue by Ludwig van Beethoven. [5]

James Zuill Bailey, better known as Zuill Bailey is an American Grammy Award-winning cello soloist, chamber musician, and artistic director. He is a professor of cello and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at El Paso. Quynh Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American classical pianist based in New York City. She has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, to wide critical acclaim. For her Carnegie Recital Hall debut, the New York Concert Review commented: “Ms. Nguyen’s pianism and music making are graced with beauty and exuberance. She is a real artist; a wonderfully communicative performer. What a compendium of intellect, sophistication and taste!” Dr. Quynh Nguyen currently serves on the piano faculty of Hunter College and the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City.
