Paul Joseph O'Neil (born August 24, 1953) is an American former professional ice hockey center. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round, 67th overall, of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft. He was also drafted by the Houston Aeros in the fifth round, 61st overall, of the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft. O'Neil played six National Hockey League games in his career (five with Vancouver and one with the Boston Bruins) and one World Hockey Association game (with the Birmingham Bulls), spending the bulk of his career in the minor leagues. [1] Internationally he played for the United States at the 1973 World Championship Group B.

Daniel Anthony Hinton was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in the fifth round, 77th overall, of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft. He was also drafted by the Houston Aeros in the seventh round, 87th overall, of the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft; however, he never played in the World Hockey Association. Hinton played fourteen National Hockey League games with the Black Hawks in the 1976–77 season, scoring no points.

The 1994–95 Hartford Whalers season was the 23rd season of the franchise, 16th season in the NHL. Despite trading away star forward Pat Verbeek to the New York Rangers on March 23, 1995, the Whalers played solid over the next 16 games from March 25 to April 24, with a record of 8-7-1. However, the Whalers could not keep pace with the New York Rangers who went on to take 8th place in the Eastern Conference. It was the third consecutive season that the Whalers missed the playoffs.
