Advancement and recognition in the Boy Scouts of America is a tradition dating from the inception of the Scouting movement. A fundamental purpose of advancement is the self-confidence a young man or woman acquires from his participation in Scouting. Advancement is one of the methods used in the "Aims and Methods of Scouting"– character development, citizenship training and personal fitness.
Wood Badge is a Scouting leadership programme and the related award for adult leaders in the programmes of Scout associations throughout the world. Wood Badge courses aim to make Scouters better leaders by teaching advanced leadership skills, and by creating a bond and commitment to the Scout movement. Courses generally have a combined classroom and practical outdoors-based phase followed by a Wood Badge ticket, also known as the project phase. By "working the ticket", participants put their newly gained experience into practice to attain ticket goals aiding the Scouting movement. The first Wood Badge training was organized by Francis "Skipper" Gidney and lectured at by Robert Baden-Powell and others at Gilwell Park in September 1919. Wood Badge training has since spread across the world with international variations.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a system of central government schools in India that are instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As of April 2023, it has a total of 1,253 schools in India, and three abroad in Kathmandu, Moscow and Tehran. It is one of the world's largest chains of schools and also the largest chain of schools in India is controlled by 25 Regional Offices and 05 ZIETs under KVS (HQ).
Scouts Australia is a trading name of The Scout Association of Australia, which is the largest scouting organisation in Australia, claiming 48,796 children and youths and 2,792 young adult participants in 2022, and is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. It was formed in 1958 and incorporated in 1967. It operates personal development programs for children and young adults from 5 to 25 years of age with programs successively opened to girls after 1971.
The Scout Association of Nigeria (SAN) is the national Scouting organization of Nigeria. Scouting was founded in the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria in 1915 and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1961. SAN has about 750,210 members as of 2015.
Scouting and Guiding in Queensland is represented by Scouts Australia, Girl Guides Australia, Plast Ukrainian Scouts, and the Australian Baden-Powell Scouts' Association.
Richards Marion "Doc" Miller is a dentist and one of the founders of the Venturing program of the Boy Scouts of America. Miller is the recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and Silver Buffalo Award
Cyril Connell was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. An Australian international and Queensland Maroons representative centre/five-eighth, he played his club football in Toowoomba and Rockhampton. At the time of his death, he had been a recruitment scout for the Brisbane Broncos club of the NRL for several years. He was also the son of former rugby league footballer and administrator Cyril Connell Sr.
Provision of education in the UAE began shortly after the establishment of the federation with the inception of the first university in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates University. Since then, the country has progressed with efforts of ensuring high literacy rates, modern programs and women's share in education. It works on improving its youths education which is why the agenda 2021 has been set. The UAE currently devotes approximately 25 percent of total federal government spending to education. As of 2019, the overall literacy rate is 96%.

Dominique Bénard of Bogève, France is former Deputy Secretary-General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in Geneva, Switzerland, from August 2004 to April 2007. Bénard led the departments of Education, Research and Development at the World Scout Bureau, which includes Youth Participation, Program for Adolescents and Young Adults, Children in Need, Recruitment and Formation of Adult Volunteers, 2007 Centenary, and World Events for Young People. Bénard oversaw contact with the European, Arab, and InterAmerican offices.
Allan Lopez Rellon is a Filipino politician who is currently serving as the vice mayor of Tagum since 2022. He previously served as the mayor of Tagum from 2013 to 2022. And previously served as vice mayor of Tagum from 2004 to 2013. He was also the Secretary-General of the Vice Mayor's League of the Philippines. Rellon was named the Best Reserve Officer of the Philippine Army Reserve Command in 2009 and is currently on the board of directors of the University of Mindanao Tagum College.
Chao Shou-po is a Taiwanese politician, educator, civic activist and lawyer who has served as Governor of Taiwan Province and Commissioner of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. He is also a prominent leader in the World Scout Movement.
Peter Blatch OAM of Brisbane, Australia is one of 12 elected volunteer members of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Irina Pruidze is Secretary General of the Georgian Organization of the Scout Movement and the outgoing Regional Chair of the Eurasia Regional Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
John George Ravenhall of Melbourne, Australia served as the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Australia from 2003 to early 2009, a member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee and a member of the World Training Committee and World Adult Resources Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Shree Ram Lamichhanne from Lalitpur, Nepal, served as the Chief Commissioner of Nepal Scouts and as the Regional Vice-Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), and as an elected volunteer member from 2009 to 2015, presently serving as Chairman of the Awards Committee.
Shim Sang-ho is a South Korean businessman. He served as an elected volunteer member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) from 2009 to 2015, chairperson of the Young Adult Members Group.
James Villers Legge Phillips (1922–2012) was a Ghanaian civil servant and politician. He was Ghana's Commissioner (Minister) for Lands and Mineral Resources from 1966 to 1968, and Ghana's Commissioner (Minister) for Industries and Ghana Industrial Holdings from 1968 to 1969.
Tom Hullena is a former principal at Makoura College he worked at the College from 2009 to 2015. He also taught at Kuranui College as a HOD physical Education. Tom Hullena received the MNZM for services to education in 2016.
