Donovan Bailey is a retired Jamaican-Canadian sprinter. He once held the world record for the 100 metres. He recorded a time of 9.84 seconds to become Olympic champion in 1996. He was the first Canadian to legally break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m. Particularly noted for his top speed, Bailey ran 12.10 m/s in his 1996 Olympic title run, the fastest ever recorded by a human at the time. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 as an individual athlete and in 2008 as part of the 1996 Summer Olympics 4x100 relay team. In 2005, he was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.

Water polo has been part of the Summer Olympics program since the second games, in 1900. A women's water polo tournament was introduced for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Hungary has been the most successful country in men's tournament, while the United States is the only team to win multiple times at the women's tournament since its introduction. Italy is the first and only country to win both the men's and women's water polo tournaments.
A women's golf tournament was played at the 1900 Summer Olympics. It was the only time women's golf was featured at the Olympics until 2016. There were 10 competitors from 2 nations at the event, which was played on 3 October at the Compiègne Club. The event was won by Margaret Abbott of the United States, the first American woman Olympic champion. The United States completed a medal sweep in the event, although (i) medals were not awarded at the time and (ii) some sources list Pauline Whittier as Swiss or Abbie Pratt as French. Whittier was an American studying in St. Moritz. Pratt was an American who spent significant time in Europe and competed under the auspices of the (French) Dinard Golf Club.
Maurice Germot was a French tennis player and Olympic champion. He was twice an Olympic Gold medallist in doubles, partnering Max Decugis in 1906 and André Gobert in 1912, and a Silver medallist in singles in 1906.
François Joseph Marie Antoine Blanchy, best known as François Blanchy was a tennis player competing for France. He competed at the 1912 Summer Olympics and the 1920 Summer Olympics.
María Belén Pérez Maurice is an Argentine sabre fencer who was Pan American champion in 2014. She was the only representative of the sport from Argentina at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Emma Hinze is a German professional racing cyclist. She competed in the 2016 and 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, winning in individual and team sprint as well as in Keirin. Triple world champion, she was seen as a favourite for the Tokyo Olympics, but ultimately failed to win an individual medal, falling to eventual gold medal winner Kelsey Mitchell in the semi-finals and the losing the bout for the bronze medal against Lee Wai-sze. With her partner Lea Friedrich, she was more successful in the team sprint, winning silver. For winning the silver medal at Tokyo she was awarded by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany with the Silver Laurel Leaf, Germany's highest sport-award.
