Paytm Travel is the online travel services division of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm. Headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, it provides booking solutions for flights, trains, buses and hotels. The platform integrates flexible cancellation policies, travel insurance, and subscription-based services.

History

Paytm Travel was launched in 2015 with bus ticketing services through aggregator partnerships. [1]

In 2019, Paytm acquired NightStay, a last-minute hotel booking platform, marking its entry into the hospitality segment. [2]

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company recorded increased demand for bus services as migrants travelled back to their hometowns. [3]

In 2023, Paytm Travel became an authorised partner of the IRCTC and introduced features such as PNR confirmation prediction and guaranteed seat assistance. [4] [5]

The company also introduced flexible cancellation options on train and flight bookings, including Tatkal train tickets and international flights. [6]

In November 2023, Paytm partnered with Amadeus to integrate AI-driven travel technology into its platform. [7]

In 2024, Paytm announced partnerships with global aggregators including Skyscanner, Google Flights, and Wego to expand international booking options. [8]

By early 2025, Paytm partnered with Agoda to provide hotel booking options in India and overseas markets. [9]

Paytm Travel operates under One97 Communications. The group was founded by Vijay Shekhar Sharma, and the travel division is headed by Vikash Jalan as CEO. [10]
