John Henry Steenhuisen is a South African politician who has served as the twentieth leader of the Opposition since October 2019 and has been the leader of the Democratic Alliance since November 2020, having served as the interim leader for one year from November 2019. He was chief whip of the official opposition from May 2014 until October 2019. Ideologically, Steenhuisen has been described as a classical liberal, a supporter of non-racialism and a firm believer in racial equality.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a South African Marxist–Leninist and pan-Africanist political party. It was founded by expelled former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Julius Malema, and his allies, in 2013. Malema is President of the EFF, heading the Central Command Team which serves as the central structure of the party. It is currently the third-largest party in both houses of the South African Parliament. The party is also the official opposition in three of South Africa's nine provincial legislatures.

Vuyani Pambo is a South African politician and former student activist. He has represented the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the National Assembly since May 2019 and serves as the head of the EFF presidency. He rose to political prominence as a leader of the Fees Must Fall movement at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he was the head of the EFF Student Command. A member of the EFF Central Command since December 2019, he also served as the party's national spokesperson between February 2020 and February 2022.
Andrew Arnolds is a South African politician of the Economic Freedom Fighters who represented the Western Cape in the National Council of Provinces from 2019 until 2023.
Mmabatho Olive Mokause is a South African politician serving as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from the Northern Cape since March 2020. She is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Mokause was a Member of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature from May 2014 to April 2015. She was appointed to the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of Parliament, in April 2015 and served in the chamber until January 2018. After the May 2019 general election, she returned to the National Assembly, but resigned in September. In March 2020, she was selected to represent the EFF in the upper house.
Thembinkosi Rawula is a South African politician. He was a senior member of the Economic Freedom Fighters and a Member of Parliament for the party until he resigned in April 2019 after accusing party leaders of financial mismanagement.
Cilliers Brink is a South African politician who is the Mayor of Tshwane, in office since 28 March 2023. A member of the Democratic Alliance, he was the party's Shadow Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2020 until 2023 and a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2019 to 2023. He was the party's Shadow Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs between 2019 and 2020.
Piaba Madokwe is a South African politician who served as Member of the National Assembly for the Economic Freedom Fighters from October 2020 until August 2023. Madokwe had previously served as the secretary-general of the EFF Student Command.
Ngwanamakwetle Reneiloe Mashabela is a South African politician from the Economic Freedom Fighters party. She has been a Member of Parliament (MP) in the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2014. Mashabela is a member of the central command team of the EFF.
Ntokozo Khonziwe Fortunate Hlonyana is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 23 January 2018. She is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters party.
Ciliesta Catherine Shoana Motsepe was a South African Member of Parliament for the Economic Freedom Fighters. She was elected to parliament in 2019. From June 2020, she was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration. In March 2023, she was appointed to serve on the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources and Energy.

Prior to serving as Johannesburg city council, he was a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature between 2014 and 2017 and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2017 until 2023.
Tsepo Winston Mhlongo is a South African politician. As a member of the Democratic Alliance, he served as a councillor in the City of Johannesburg until the 2014 national election, when he was elected to the National Assembly of South Africa. After that, he was appointed Shadow Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform. Mhlongo became the Shadow Minister of Sport and Recreation in January 2017 before he was selected to be Shadow Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture in June 2019. On 1 December 2023, Mhlongo was expelled from the DA and lost his parliamentary membership. He has since joined ActionSA.
Darren Bergman is a South African politician who has served as Shadow Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition since 2023 and has been a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Alliance since 2014. He was Shadow Deputy Minister of Sport and Recreation between 2014 and 2019 and Shadow Minister of International Relations and Cooperation between 2019 and 2023.
Gauteng is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa, the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established as Pretoria–Witwatersrand–Vereeniging in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It was renamed Gauteng in 1999. It is conterminous with the province of Gauteng. The constituency currently elects 48 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 6,381,220 registered electors.
Tania Lynette Campbell is a South African Democratic Alliance politician who served as the Mayor of Ekurhuleni twice, from November 2021 until her removal in a motion of no confidence in October 2022 and again from November 2022 until her removal in a second motion of no confidence in March 2023.
Kgotso Zachariah Morapela is a South African politician for the Economic Freedom Fighters. He was the party's provincial chairman in the Free State until 2018 and represented the party in the National Assembly and the Free State Provincial Legislature.
Hlayiseka Crucief Chewane is a South African politician and medical doctor who was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from 2015 to 2017.
