Joaquim Fernandes Agostinho, OIH was a Portuguese professional bicycle racer. He was champion of Portugal in six successive years. He rode the Tour de France 13 times and finished all but once, winning on Alpe d'Huez in 1979, and finishing third twice. All total he finished in the top 10 of a Grand Tour eleven times, made three podiums and won a total of seven stages between the Vuelta and Tour.
Edgardo Simón is an Argentine professional track and road bicycle racer. He rides for the Ironage-Colner squad, having previously competed for the Real Cycling Team on the UCI America Tour. In 2005, Simon won the UCI America Tour. In 2010 he was granted the Konex Award Merit Diploma as one of the five best cyclist of the last decade in Argentina.
Márcio May is a Brazilian road bicycle and track cyclist, who competed in three Summer Olympics for his native country. He won two bronze medals during his career at the Pan American Games. May retired from professional cycling in January 2008. His last race was the Copa América de Ciclismo, in which he rode for the Scott–Marcondes Cesar–São José dos Campos team. He returned to racing at the amateur level in 2016, and currently rides for club team FMD Rio do Sul–Royal Ciclo–Dalthon.

Team Scott–Marcondes Cesar–São José dos Campos was a Brazilian UCI Continental road bicycle racing team, based on São José dos Campos. The team was created in 1993 by José Carlos Monteiro, who is the general team manager since its foundation. After a financial struggle in the first half of 2009 which included not paying up to 6 months of some rides salaries, the team secured a Professional Continental licence for 2010. However, further financial difficulties, including lack of payment to its rides, resulted in the teams suspension by the UCI from August 2010 and onwards. In November 2010 it was revealed that the teams bank guarantee, which is required by all Pro Continental teams, was a counterfeit and no money had been deposited.
