Pedro Jarque Krebs (born 1963) [1] is a Peruvian wildlife photographer, best known for his darkly ambianced, studio- quality close-up portraits of beasts, large birds, and other wild animals. [2] [3] [4] He has won photography awards including Sony World Photography Awards, SipaContest, IPA, and Px3. [5] Jarque was born in Lima. His Spanish full name is often quoted as Pedro Jarque Krebs.
Jarque graduated in Philosophy of Science from the Sorbonne University in Paris, and educated himself as a photographer since he was a child, when he began playing with his fatherly-gift camera taking pictures of tadpoles and frogs at a pond near his house. [6] [7] Jarque's artwork has been frequently published in NatGeo. [8] [9] [10] [11] Jarque's photographic exhibition Fragile was on solo display at the Peruvian Embassy Gallery (Washington,D.C.) in 2019. [12] In commentators' words, Jarque's photographs "aim to break down the psychological and emotional barriers that separate us from our fellow creatures, capturing every animal in an atmosphere of breathtaking intimacy," [1] and constitute "a cry against species extinction." [13]
Simon Harsent is a fine art and commercial photographer. The eldest son of British poet David Harsent, he was born in Aylesbury, England in 1965, and lives in New York and Australia. Harsent's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide.
Hector Garcia Cobo was a Mexican photographer and photojournalist who had a sixty-year career chronicling Mexico's social classes, Mexico City and various events of the 20th century, such as the 1968 student uprising. He was born poor but discovered photography in his teens and early 20s, deciding to study it seriously after his attempt to photograph the death of a coworker failed. He was sent to the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas by magazine director Edmundo Valdés who recognized García's talent. Most of García's career was related to photojournalism, working with publications both inside and outside of Mexico. However, a substantial amount of his work had more artistic and critical qualities. Many of these were exhibited in galleries and museums, with sixty five individual exhibitions during his lifetime. This not only included portraits of artists and intellectuals but also portraits of common and poor people. He was also the first photojournalist to explicitly criticize Mexico's elite, either making fun of them or contrasting them to the very poor.

Luigi Domenico Gismondi was an Italian prolific photographer, photographic-supplies vendor, and postcard publisher active in Bolivia and the areas of southern Peru and northern Chile. Gismondi was a pioneer in photography in Bolivia, documenting various cultural aspects and numerous personalities while at the same time creating a comprehensive exhibit of regional architecture and geography.
