Bryn is a village situated east of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is part of the Llanelli Rural community, and it borders with the villages of Llangennech, Dafen, Penceilogi, Pen-y-graig and Bynea. It is roughly 70m above sea level.

Bynea is a village close to the River Loughor in Carmarthenshire, Wales (Cymru). It also forms an electoral ward for the purposes of elections to Carmarthenshire County Council, and is situated in Berwig Hamlet. David Eirwyn Morgan was a minister, journalist and Welsh nationalist politician.

David Davies was a Welsh Independent minister, and editor of 'Y Geirgrawn'. He is thought to have grown up in the Llanybydder area, Carmarthenshire. He is known to have been studying at the Academy in Swansea in 1786. By 1787 however, he was ordained and pastor of the church at Pen-y-Graig and of Capel Sul, Kidwelly. He subsequently moved to Holywell, where he stayed until 1800. It was there he published his radical magazine 'Y Geirgrawn'. Its controversial views are known to have caused upset amongst the authorities and his congregation, to the extent that surviving letters on the subject speak of ‘unhappy misunderstandings’ which ‘went on for years’. On leaving Holywell in 1802 he moved to Welshpool, and then, in 1803 to Stoneway, Bridgnorth.

Pen-y-graig, also spelled Penygraig, is an area of Llanelli, in Carmarthenshire, Wales, bordering with Bynea, Llwynhendy, and Bryn all of which are in the Llanelli Rural district of Llanelli. It is 100 feet (30 m) above sea level and overlooking the Loughor estuary. Welsh is the main language of the area where most of the children either attend the Welsh school in Cwmcarnhywel -Ysgol Brynsierfel or the English School- Ysgol Y Bynea.
