Peter Barinka (born April 6, 1977) is a Slovak former professional ice hockey player.
He played in the Czech Extraliga for HC Zlín, HC Oceláři Třinec and BK Mladá Boleslav. He also played in the Slovak Extraliga for HK Dukla Trenčín, HK Spišská Nová Ves, HKm Zvolen, MsHK Žilina and HK Nitra.

The Slovak Extraliga, known as the Tipos Extraliga since the 2020–21 season for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level ice hockey league in Slovakia. From 2018–19 to 2020–21, the league included one or two teams from Hungary.

HK Poprad is a professional ice hockey team in the Slovak Extraliga, the top ice hockey league in Slovakia. It plays its games in Poprad, Slovakia. The squad's greatest success was 2nd place in the Slovak Extraliga in 2006, 2011 and 2021. The club is nicknamed Kamzíci, which means "Chamoises" in Slovak.

The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation elected to promote ŠHK 37 Piešťany to the Extraliga. HC 46 Bardejov did not apply for promotion as it is HC Kosice's farm team. HK Púchov was relegated to the Slovak 2.Liga.
