Peter Elliot (born December 9, 1966) is an American writer, editor, and media personality best known for his biography of restaurateur Sirio Maccioni, Sirio: The Story of My Life and Le Cirque [1] and for the development of DINE, the restaurant search engine and lifestyle portal for the global financial news and media company Bloomberg LP. [2] He is currently manager of Lifestyle Products at Bloomberg LP.
Elliot was born in New York City and grew up in New York City, London, and Scotland. He attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland. His parents are Judith Francisco, former dancer, and Robert H. Leach, former Head of Marketing at American Express and senior partner at Norman, Craig & Kümmel.
Elliot started his career with McGraw-Hill in London tracking oil tankers and eventually OPEC and the newly reemerging East European and Russian oil industry. He was the youngest ever cover story writer for Businessweek. In 1991 an introduction to Michael Bloomberg – who had just founded his fledgling news company – led to Elliot working on their commodities team. When Bloomberg bought WNEW in 1992, Bloomberg asked Elliot to anchor the commodities segment and also to widen out into lifestyle-related news, data, and services. Following this expansion Elliot worked on DINE, which was designed for the Bloomberg Terminal to give Bloomberg clients and employees a platform to discuss, rate, and review restaurants in a private forum with their peers.
Elliot wrote the biography of restaurateur Sirio Maccioni, Sirio: The Story of My Life and Le Cirque [1] and his writing has been featured in Vanity Fair and Town & Country .
From 1993 to 2001 Elliot's food program was broadcast on Bloomberg Radio. Interview guests included leading food industry personalities, notably Mario Batali, Ruthi Reichl, Anthony Bourdain, Jamie Oliver, Julia Child, and George Lang.

Mario Francesco Batali is an American chef, writer, and former restaurateur. Batali co-owned restaurants in New York City; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Newport Beach, California; Boston; Singapore; Westport, Connecticut; and New Haven, Connecticut including Babbo (restaurant) in New York City which received a Michelin star for several years. Batali has appeared on the Food Network, on shows such as Molto Mario and Iron Chef America, on which he was one of the featured "Iron Chefs". In 2017, the restaurant review site Eater revealed multiple accusations of sexual misconduct against Batali and, in March 2019, he sold all his restaurant holdings.
Iron Chef America is an American cooking show based on Fuji Television's Iron Chef, and is the second American adaptation of the series, following the failed Iron Chef USA that aired in 2001. The show is produced by Food Network, which also carried a dubbed version of the original Iron Chef. Like the original Japanese program, the program is a culinary game show. In each episode, a new challenger chef competes against one of the resident "Iron Chefs" in a one-hour cooking competition based on a secret ingredient or ingredients, and sometimes theme.

Opened in 2004, it houses the headquarters of Bloomberg L.P. and as a result, is sometimes referred to informally as Bloomberg Tower. The building also houses retail outlets, restaurants and 105 luxury condominiums. The residence section of the building is known as One Beacon Court and is served by a separate entrance.
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef, television personality, and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. She was also one of the Iron Chefs, Mario Batali's sous chefs in the Iron Chef America series and appears on other programs on the network such as The Best Thing I Ever Ate. She was a contestant on the fourth season of The Food Network competition show, The Next Iron Chef Super Chefs being eliminated in episode 6. She was also a contestant on the first season of Chopped All-Stars Tournament, winning the "Food Network Personalities" preliminary round to advance to the final round, where she placed second runner up to Nate Appleman (winner) and Aarón Sanchez. In 2015, Burrell won the fourth installment of the Chopped All-Stars tournament winning $75,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She also hosted the series Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell in 2012–2013.
Delmonico's is the name of a series of restaurants that operated in New York City, and Greenwich, Connecticut with the present version located at 56 Beaver Street in the Financial District of Manhattan. The original version was widely recognized as America's first fine dining restaurant. Beginning as a small cafe and pastry shop in 1827 at 23 William Street, Delmonico's eventually grew into a hospitality empire that encompassed several luxury restaurants catering to titans of industry, the political elite and cultural luminaries. In many respects, Delmonico's represented the genesis of American fine dining cuisine, pioneering numerous restaurant innovations, developing iconic American dishes, and setting a standard for dining excellence. Delmonico's shuttered all locations by 1923. In 1926, Delmonico's under new ownership by Italian immigrant Oscar Tucci reopened at 56 Beaver Street.

Crème brûlée or crème brulée, also known as burnt cream or Trinity cream, and virtually identical to crema catalana, is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a layer of hardened caramelized sugar. It is normally served slightly chilled; the heat from the caramelizing process tends to warm the top of the custard, while leaving the center cool. The custard base is traditionally flavored with vanilla in French cuisine, but can have other flavorings. It is sometimes garnished with fruit.
