Peter Filopoulos is an Australian sports administrator.

During the 1990s, Filopoulos was general manager of National Soccer League team South Melbourne between 1992 and 1999. [1] [2] [3]

In 1999, Filopoulos joined Australian Football League team Hawthorn as corporate marketing manager. [4]

Filopoulos was chief commercial officer of Swimming Australia until 2015. [5]

He was CEO of the A-League soccer club Perth Glory from 2015 to 2018. [6] [7] [8] [9]

Filopoulos was the CEO of Football Victoria between 2018 and 2020. [10] [11] [12]

In September 2020 he was appointed the Head of Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Football Australia. [13] [14] [15] Filopoulos is also a director of Vicsport. [16]

The 2014 FFA Cup was the inaugural season of the FFA Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. 631 teams in total from around Australia entered the competition. Only 32 teams competed in the competition proper, including the 10 A-League teams and 22 Football Federation Australia (FFA) member federation teams determined through individual state preliminary rounds held in early 2014. The FFA Cup competition proper commenced on 29 July 2014 and concluded with the FFA Cup Final on 16 December 2014. which was brought forward from Australia Day in order to avoid a clash with the 2015 Asian Cup, which was hosted by Australia.

Jamie Maclaren is an Australian professional soccer player who Captains & plays as a striker for A-League club Melbourne City. The 2020–21 A-League was the 44th season of national level soccer in Australia, and the 16th since the establishment of the A-League in 2004. The season was started on 28 December 2020 and concluded with the Grand Final on 27 June 2021. The start of the season was later than previous seasons as a result of both the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and as part of a gradual shift to move the competition from summer to winter. Wellington Phoenix played the majority of their home matches at Wollongong Showground in Wollongong due to international travel restrictions.

James Johnson is an Australian sports administrator and business person who has served as CEO of Football Australia since January 2020. He is also a non-executive advisory board member of the Association Football Development Program Global chaired by Prince Ali bin Hussein of Jordan. Johnson has spent the bulk of his career in the global sports industry and is a highly regarded global sports executive. Johnson has been a featured speaker at sports forums and conferences in areas, including, the international transfer system, financial fair play, multi-club ownership, salary caps, as well as the globalisation, commercialisation, and business of sports. Johnson spent the early period of his career as a lawyer practicing in the areas corporate law, litigation, and industrial relations.

The 2021–22 season was the 53rd season of national competitive association football in Australia and 139th overall.
