Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is a Namibian politician who is the third and current vice president of Namibia since February 2024. She previously served as the deputy-prime minister of Namibia from 2015 to 2024. The current SWAPO vice president, she has retained her position, and is set to become the party's first female presidential candidate in November 2024. She has also been serving as Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since December 2012. From March 2010 to December 2012, she was Minister of Environment and Tourism. Nandi-Ndaitwah is a member of SWAPO, Namibia's ruling party, and a long-time member of the National Assembly. In 2017, Nandi-Ndaitwah was elected vice-president of the Swapo Party at the party's 6th Congress. She is the first woman to serve in that position.
Monica Nashandi is a Namibian diplomat and politician. Nashandi was Namibia's ambassador to Scandinavian countries as well as the former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Nashandi was removed from the SWAPO list for the 2009 general election because she had not registered to vote, a requirement under Namibian law. Nashandi was Namibia's ambassador to the United States of America from 2019 to 2020.
Rundu Urban is an electoral constituency in the Kavango East region of Namibia. It covers the urban area of Rundu, the region's capital and one of Namibia's largest cities. The constituency also covers parts of the Sauyemwa, Safari, Tutungeni, Katutura, Donkerhoek and Kehemu neighborhoods. It had a population of 20,953 in 2011, up from 19,173 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 35,740 registered voters.
Lucia Witbooi is a Namibian politician and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security. A member of SWAPO, Witbooi was elected to the Namibia's National Assembly in the 2009 general election. Prior to entering the National Assembly, Witbooi was a teacher in Gibeon, Hardap Region. She studied at Suiderlig High School in Keetmanshoop and worked in the administration of the Namaland bantustan.
Ambrosius Hamutenya Haingura was a Namibian activist and politician. A member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), he was an internal activist during the Namibian War of Independence. Following independence, he served as Regional Councillor for Rundu Urban constituency from 1992 until his death. From 1993 to 1995, he served as the first Regional Governor of the Kavango Region, and from 1996 to his death he represented the Kavango Region in the National Council of Namibia.
Margaret Natalie Mensah-Williams is a Namibian politician, diplomat, and prominent SWAPO member. She currently serves as Namibia's ambassador to the United States.
Visolela Rosalinda "Rosa" Namises, nicknamed the "Rosa Luxemburg of Namibia", is a Namibian politician, human-rights activist and chief of a faction of the ǀKhomanin, a clan of the Damara people. She is a former member of Parliament and founding member and former secretary-general of the Namibian Congress of Democrats (CoD). A prominent voice on gender issues, human-rights violations, and violence against women and children in Namibia, she is the director of Woman Solidarity Namibia and works at the Dolam Residential Child Care centre, a day-care centre for vulnerable children.
Alexia Turimei Manombe-Ncube is a Namibian politician. She is deputy minister of Disability Affairs since March 2015.
Panduleni Filemon Bango Itula is a Namibian politician, dentist, lawyer, and former Chief Dentist at the Katutura State Hospital, as well as a former SWAPO party school lecturer. He was an independent presidential candidate for the Presidency of Namibia in the 2019 Namibian general election and finished second (29%) after Hage Geingob. He is a founder and president of the Independent Patriots for Change in Namibia.
Juliet Kavetuna is a Namibian politician and a legislator serving since 2008 in National Assembly. She is a former deputy minister of Health and Social Services, a former minister of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture and a former secretary general of the National Youth Council of Namibia
