Philip Henderickx (born 11 April 1976 [1] ) is a Belgian contemporary artist (painter, photographer).

Henderickx was born in Burkina Faso and spent his childhood in Burkina Faso, Togo and Ethiopia.

He studied in the academy of fine arts in Ghent and Sint Lucas in Brussels. After his studies in 1998 he left Belgium to work and live for 10 years in Asia.

Henderickx's work is figurative and makes extensive use of techniques from photography. His palette usually tends toward monochrome and shades of grey. Subjects of his paintings are his childhood relation to Africa, his Catholic education and his new home Belgium.

Henderickx lives and works in Leuven.

Kenneth Gyang is a young filmmaker in Nigeria and was born in Barkin Ladi of Plateau State, Nigeria. He studied Film Production at the National Film Institute in Jos and screenwriting at Gaston Kaboré's IMAGINE in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Two of his short films as well as a script titled "Game of Life" were selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus 2006 and "Mummy Lagos" was well received as an official competition entry. "Mummy Lagos" was also selected for the Sithengi Talent Campus as part of the Cape Town World Cinema Festival in South Africa.

Luca Lazar Georgian artist

Luca Lazar or Luka Lasareishvili is a Georgian artist. He was born on 14 November 1957 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He studied at the Tbilisi State Art Academy from 1976 to 1982 from which he graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts degree. Since 1982 he has been working as an independent, professional artist and participated in numerous solo- and group exhibitions in galleries and museums. He has worked in a variety of media: painting, installations, object and video art. From 1985 until 1988 Lazar lived and worked in Moscow, Russia. He then moved on to Paris, France. The following year, 1989, Lazar spent in Kassel, Germany as an artist-in-residence with the Museum Fridericianum. From 1990 until 2003 Lazar lived and worked in Cologne, Germany. During his time in Germany, sweeping changes were taking place in his native region that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the declaration of independence of Georgia and was followed by armed conflicts and civil war in his country of origin. As Lazar was unable to return, he stayed on in Germany, where he eventually received citizenship. From 1997 until 2005 he held a position as lecturer at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Trier, Germany. In 2003 Lazar relocated to New York City, United States, where he has continued his artistic career.

Valentin Gallery is an art gallery in Quebec. Created in 1934, it was first called "L'Art français" and had its start on Laurier Street in Montreal. Owners Lucienne (1900-1992) and Louis (1890-1956) Lange initially showed works by French artists. By the 1940s they were offering art by Marc-Aurèle Fortin and Philip Surrey. In 1975, Jean-Pierre Valentin purchased the gallery. The gallery moved to its present Sherbrooke Street location later and changed the name to Valentin Gallery.
