Piictu was a photo-sharing mobile app company founded in 2011 by Jonathan Slimak, based in New York City. [1]
PiiCTU was launched in 2011 and encouraged users to have conversations using pictures, instead of solely posting photos. Users responded to each other with pictures, creating visual stories.
PiiCTU used this interactive approach to work with brands, allowing users to engage with them through photo challenges.
Over time, PiiCTU experienced a decline in user engagement, profitability, and faced competition from other photo-sharing apps, such as Instagram.
PiiCTU merged with Betaworks and ceased operations on May 31, 2013. [2]
Picasa was a cross-platform image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, integrated with a now defunct photo-sharing website, originally created by a company named Lifescape in 2002. "Picasa" is a blend of the name of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, the word casa and "pic" for pictures.

In July 2018, ownership of Instapaper was transferred from Pinterest to a newly formed company Instant Paper, Inc. The transition was completed on August 6, 2018.

Snapchat is an American multimedia instant messaging app and service developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the principal features of the multimedia Snapchat is that pictures and messages are usually available for only a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. The app has evolved from originally focusing on person-to-person photo sharing to presently featuring users' "Stories" of 24 hours of chronological content, along with "Discover", letting brands show ad-supported short-form content. It also allows users to store photos in a password-protected area called "My Eyes Only". It has also reportedly incorporated limited use of end-to-end encryption, with plans to broaden its use in the future.
Cycloramic is an iOS and Windows Phone application that makes the Apple iPhone and Compatible Windows Phones rotate 360 degrees without user intervention. It switches the phone's vibrator at a specific (undisclosed) frequency to make the phone spin around its vertical axis and track the rotation angle using the gyroscope, compass and accelerometer while taking panoramic images. This "handsfree" feature works only on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s standing on one of its flat edges. Because of this limitation, iPhone 4 users take panoramic photos in a guided mode. Another feature of this program is the ability to post process panoramic images into 24-second videos for other uses. The update introduced on June 22, 2013 added features to store, edit and share the panoramic pictures.
Dots is a free mobile game produced by Betaworks and developed at American studio Playdots, Inc. It was released on April 30, 2013 for iOS and on August 15, 2013 for Android. It is no longer available as the game shut down on the March 25, 2023. It has both a single player and online multiplayer modes. A single-player sequel, Two Dots, was released on May 29, 2014.
