The Mexican Pirate wikiParty (wikiPartido Pirata Mexicano) is a political organization seeking to become a political party in Mexico. [1] Based on the model of the Swedish Pirate Party, it supports intellectual property reform, transparency, and privacy. [2] The Mexican Pirate wikiParty is a member of Pirate Parties International. [3]

A political party is an organized group of people, often with common views, who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government. The party agrees on some proposed policies and programmes, with a view to promoting the collective good or furthering their supporters' interests.

Pirate Party (Sweden) Swedish political party focused on information sharing

The Pirate Party is a political party in Sweden founded in 2006. Its sudden popularity has given rise to parties with the same name and similar goals in Europe and worldwide, forming the International Pirate Party movement.

The party has a decentralised, "peer to peer" model, which it calls a wiki-party. [4]
