Pirkko Vahtero (born 16 December 1936 in Keuruu) [1] is a Finnish graphic designer and heraldist. Over the course of time, Vahtero has designed a number of Finnish postage stamps and securities. [2] She has designed about 140 Finnish stamps and also designed stamps for other countries such as Costa Rica, Denmark, El Salvador, Iceland, Kuwait, Lebanon, Norway, Sweden and Venezuela. [3] [4]
The Calgary Stampeders are a professional Canadian football team based in Calgary, Alberta. The Stampeders compete in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). During the course of her career, Saariaho received commissions from the Lincoln Center for the Kronos Quartet and from IRCAM for the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the BBC, the New York Philharmonic, the Salzburg Music Festival, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and the Finnish National Opera, among others. In a 2019 composers' poll by BBC Music Magazine, Saariaho was ranked the greatest living composer.

The Great Americans series is a set of definitive stamps issued by the United States Postal Service, starting on December 27, 1980, with the 19¢ stamp depicting Sequoyah, and continuing through 1999, the final stamp being the 55¢ Justin S. Morrill self-adhesive stamp. The series, noted for its simplicity and elegance, is a favorite of stamp collectors. It was replaced by the Distinguished Americans series, which began in 2000.
Pirkko Sisko Määttä is a Finnish former cross-country skier who was born in Kuusamo and competed from 1982 to 1995. She won two 4 × 5 km relay bronze medals at the Winter Olympics.
Taistoism was an orthodox pro-Soviet tendency in the mostly Eurocommunist Finnish communist movement in the 1970s and 1980s. The Taistoists were an interior opposition group in the Communist Party of Finland. They were named after their leader Taisto Sinisalo, whose first name means "a battle", "a fight" or "a struggle". Sinisalo's supporters constituted a party within a party, but pressure from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union prevented the party from formally splitting. The term taistolaisuus was a derogatory nickname invented by Helsingin Sanomat and was never used by the group themselves.
Pirjo Irene Honkasalo is a Finnish film director who has also worked as a cinematographer, film editor, producer, screenwriter and actress. In 1980 she co-directed Flame Top with Pekka Lehto, with whom she worked earlier and later as well. The film was chosen for the 1981 Cannes Film Festival. In the 1990s she focused on feature documentaries such as "The Trilogy of the Sacred and the Satanic". Honkasalo returned to fiction with Fire-Eater (1998) and Concrete Night (2013), both of which were written by Pirkko Saisio. Concrete Night won six Jussi Awards in 2014, among them the Jussi for the Best Direction and the Jussi for the Best Film. Its world premiere was at the Toronto International Film Festival in Masters series.
Pirkko Anneli Ruohonen-Lerner is a Finnish politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Finland. She is a member of the Finns Party, part of the European Conservatives and Reformists.

Eero Ensio Rislakki was a Finnish industrial engineer. He designed, among other things, the Helkama Jopo bicycle, the Tikkurila Church communion set, bathroom fixtures, reflectors, spectacle frames, air conditioner enclosures, and jewelry for Kalevala Jewelry. He was appointed honorary member of Teolliset muotoilijat TKO in 1996 and was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal of the Order of the Lion of Finland in 2005. Rislakki lived in Sweden but visited Finland during the summer months. While living in Sauvo, Rislakki worked in Sauvo's cultural and economic development boards. He had been part of the State committee of industrial art and Turku and Pori County Art Committee.
Esa Erkki Piironen is a Finnish architect. He studied architecture at Helsinki University of Technology, qualifying as an architect in 1970. He studied architecture and urban design in North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was awarded the Master of Architecture in 1972. He was working as a teaching assistant at Helsinki University of Technology 1972–81, and was awarded Licentiate in Technology in 1978. Visiting professor at Guangdong University of Technology School of Art and Design starting from 2012.

Lauri Asko Antero Sarkola is a Finnish actor and theater manager. He studied at the Svenska Teaterskolan from 1963 to 1966. He had a long career at the Swedish-speaking Lilla Teatern, where he first starred in 1967–1974 and served as deputy director from 1972 to 1974. In 1974–1981 and 1984–1997, Sarkola was the director of Lilla Teatern. From 1982 to 1985, Sarkola worked as a professor at the Helsinki Theatre Academy. He directed the Helsinki City Theatre from 1998 to 2016.
Pirkko Irmeli Ekström was a Finnish chess player and a Finnish Women Chess Championship medalist.
