Pleasure is the debut studio album by American drag queen Matthew Lent, released under his character pseudonym Pearl. The album was released on June 2, 2015, through Sidecar Records. [1] As opposed to other albums released by RuPaul's Drag Race alumni, Lent provides little-to-no vocals for the project, and instead produced the entire album.

Singles

On June 2, 2015, the same day as the album was released, "Love Slave" was released as the first single from Pleasure. [2] The single features vocals from Jaylee Maruk. The music video for "Love Slave" was released June 1, 2015, a day before the single and albums release. [3] The single received negative reviews, with Pitchfork Media naming the song as the third worst song by a RuPaul's Drag Race contestant ever. [4]

Commercial performance

Pleasure attained moderate success in the US on Billboard charts. For the week of June 20, 2015, the album debuted at number eleven on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart, [5] and sixteen on the Heatseekers Albums chart. [6]

Ho Ho Ho, also known as VH-1 Presents RuPaul: Ho Ho Ho, is a Christmas album and the third studio album by American singer and drag queen RuPaul. Released on October 28, 1997, by the record label Rhino, it is RuPaul's first album featuring Christmas music and serves as a follow-up to his 1996 album Foxy Lady. RuPaul co-produced the album with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato from the production company World of Wonder. Ho Ho Ho consists of thirteen tracks, including ten covers of Christmas standards and carols, and three original songs written by Joe Carrano and RuPaul. Music critics frequently described the album as an example of camp though RuPaul clarified that it included several more serious covers, specifically "All Alone on Christmas" and "Hard Candy Christmas".

It was released as a double A-sided single alongside "House of Love" on November 17, 1992 by Tommy Boy Records. The song served as the lead single from his debut major label album, Supermodel of the World (1993). The song became a dance club anthem that, though particularly popular within the gay handbag house scene, found mainstream success. The song consists of RuPaul giving advice to a young black supermodel, and briefly several other models, largely consisting of "sashay, shantay!", "work, turn to the left", "work, now turn to the right", and "you better work". The music video for the song, directed by Randy Barbato and featuring RuPaul in various outfits cavorting around New York, became a staple on MTV. Singer Kurt Cobain of Nirvana cited the song as one of his favorites of 1993, and the two were photographed together at the MTV Video Music Awards that year.

Beauty Marked is the debut studio album by American drag queen Miss Fame, released on June 9, 2015, by Sidecar Records. <i>Gagged</i> (EP) 2015 EP by Violet Chachki

Gagged is an extended play (EP) recorded by American drag queen Violet Chachki, released on June 30, 2015, by Sidecar Records and Producer Entertainment Group. It was made available following her crowning as the winner of the seventh season of the reality competition series RuPaul's Drag Race. Chachki was inspired to create the record in order to have her own music and visuals for her performances. Consisting of five dance-pop, electronic, and avant-garde tracks, Gagged was released as a digital EP, and was also made available via streaming services. Its lyrics emphasize sexual fetishism and gender identity, based in part on Chachki's personal experience working as a dominatrix's assistant.

<i>Oil of Every Pearls Un-Insides</i> 2018 studio album by Sophie

Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides is the only solo studio album by Scottish recording artist and producer Sophie to be released during Sophie’s lifetime. It was released on 15 June 2018, through Transgressive, Future Classic and Sophie's own label, MSMSMSM. The title may be a mondegreen of the phrase "I love every person's insides". The album was Sophie's second full-length release after the singles collection Product (2015).
