Polden Chhopang Gurung is a Nepali politician,and a member of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. He was elected from Manang constituency as a candidate for the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN UML),defeating his closest rival,Tek Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress,by 2,300 votes to 2,021. He is an apple farmer by profession. [2] CPN UML's district chairperson for Manang,Gurung became the party's candidate after Dipak Manange,whom the party was supporting,withdrew his candidacy. Gurung won in the constituency with a previously very weak presence of CPN UML;the party's candidate had received 70 votes in the previous election. [3]

Rabindra Prasad Adhikari was a Nepali politician and three time parliamentarian,belonging to the Nepal Communist Party (NCP). He was Minister of Culture,Tourism and Civil Aviation from 16 March 2018 until his death in a helicopter crash. He was the Kaski District secretary of the party. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election,Adhikari was elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 13,386 votes. In the 2013 Constituent Assembly election,he was re-elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 15,456 votes. In 2017,CPN-UML candidate Rabindra Adhikari won parliamentary elections from Kaski Constituency No. 2. Representing the left alliance,Adhikari secured 27,207 votes to defeat Nepali Congress candidate Dev Raj Chalise,who got 18,661 votes. After his demise,his wife Bidya Bhattarai won Kaski Constituency-2 with a wide margin of 8,403 votes in the by-election. Bhattarai secured 24,394 votes while her nearest contender Khem Raj Poudel from main opposition Nepali Congress got 15,991. Likewise,Socialist Party's Dharma Raj Gurung got 1,922 votes. He authored the books Constituent Assembly,Democracy and Re-structuring.
Indirect presidential elections were held in Nepal in July 2008. The first round of voting was held on 19 July,with a run-off on 21 July. The Nepalese Constituent Assembly (CA) elected in April 2008 elected a new president and vice-president after the Fifth Amendment to the Interim Constitution was passed on 14 July. This would be the first President to be elected after Nepal became a republic a few months earlier.

Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli is a Nepalese politician and former Prime Minister of Nepal. He served three terms as prime minister from 11 October 2015 to 3 August 2016,from 15 February 2018 to 13 May 2021 as the first elected prime minister under the new constitution,and from 13 May 2021 to 13 July 2021.
General elections were held in Nepal in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017 to elect the 275 members of the fifth House of Representatives,the lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. The election was held alongside the first provincial elections for the seven provincial assemblies. A political deadlock between the governing Nepali Congress and the winning left-wing coalition over the system used to elect the upper house led to delay in forming the new government. Following the announcement of final result by the Election Commission,K.P. Oli of Communist Party of Nepal was sworn in as Prime Minister on 15 February 2018 by the President according to Article 76 (2) of the constitution. He passed a Motion of Confidence on 11 March 2018 with 208 votes.
