The Polish Air Force is the aerial warfare military branch of the Polish Armed Forces. Until July 2004 it was officially known as Wojska Lotnicze i Obrony Powietrznej. In 2014 it consisted of roughly 16,425 military personnel and about 475 aircraft, distributed among ten bases throughout Poland.

The Pomeranian Army was one of the Polish armies to take part in the Invasion of Poland of 1939. It was officially created on March 23, 1939. Led by Gen.dyw. Władysław Bortnowski, it consisted of 5 infantry divisions, 2 National Defence brigades and 1 cavalry brigade.

111th Fighter Escadrille (Poland)

The 111th Fighter Escadrille of the Polish Air Force was one of the fighter units of the Polish Army. 8th Coastal Defence Flotilla

The 8th Coastal Defence Flotilla is one of three tactical unit of the Polish Navy, composed of 6 main sub-units. The 8th CDF was established in 1965. In 1994 it was named after vice-admiral Kazimierz PORĘBSKI. The flotilla consists of three ship squadrons and two shore units, supported by Naval Base ŚWINOUJŚCIE. The unit operates various combat ships and auxiliary vessels such as minelayers, minesweepers, landing crafts and logistic support vessels. The main base of 8th CDF is Swinoujscie Harbour. Its main tasks are: defence of the Polish Coast and sea zone, minecountermeasure (MCM), minelaying, transporting the army, and search and rescue (SAR) missions.

The Polish Fighter Squadron, also known by its designation GC I/145, was the largest fighter unit of the Polish Air Forces in France.
