Ponca Jazz Records is a jazz record label founded by Hilde Hefte in Kristiansand, Norway in 2004
Hefte had an idea of releasing the Rolf Søder recording Jargong Vålereng' with Egil Kapstad as composer, arranger and band leader. This idea evolved and eventually she started the label Ponca Jazz, and Jargong Vålereng' was released as an album in 2004. There after many artists showed interest, and a series of albums was released in 2005. [1]
Then Jon Larsen offered Ponca Jazz Records to take over parts of Hot Club Records' catalog. This was interesting, and lead to a faster growth, and allowed Ponca Jazz Records to become one of the major jazz labels in Norway. Several key jazz musicians and singers are now in Ponca Jazz Records catalog. [2]

Harald Gill Johnsen was a Norwegian jazz double bassist, known for his contributions in bands like Køhn/Johansen Sextet and Tord Gustavsen Trio, and a series of recordings with such as Sonny Simmons, Sigurd Køhn, Nils-Olav Johansen, Jan Erik Kongshaug, Frode Barth, Per Oddvar Johansen and Ditlef Eckhoff.
Vigleik Storaas is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer, and the younger brother of composer and bassist Gaute Storaas. He is known from a series of album releases and collaborations with jazz musicians such as Norma Winstone, Karin Krog, Terje Rypdal, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Chet Baker, Jack DeJohnette and Warne Marsh.

Egil Kapstad was a Norwegian jazz pianist, composer and arranger. He wrote the music for more than 50 theatre productions, and composed for film and television drama. Kapstad composed classical works for orchestra, choir, string quartet, and smaller ensembles, and was a chief executive of the association Ny Musikk. He worked as a host in television for NRK. Egil Kapstad's Trio worked as a small orchestra in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix of 1965.
