Poulan Library is a historic and distinctively small library in Poulan, Georgia, United States. [2] Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce</ref> It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 25, 2003. It is located on the south side of the 100 block of Church Street. It is open to the public on Thursday afternoons and by appointment. [2]

Techwood Homes was an early public housing project in the Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, opened just before the First Houses. The whites-only Techwood Homes replaced an integrated settlement of low-income people known as Tanyard Bottom or Tech Flats. It was completed on August 15, 1936, but was dedicated on November 29 of the previous year by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The new whites-only apartments included bathtubs and electric ranges in each unit, 189 of which had garages. Central laundry facilities, a kindergarten and a library were also provided. Techwood Homes was demolished in advance of the 1996 Olympics and is now Centennial Place Apartments.

The expanded district included 65 contributing buildings and 16 noncontributing buildings.

The Worth County School District is a public school district in Worth County, Georgia, United States, based in Sylvester. It serves the communities of Poulan, Sumner, Sylvester, and Warwick.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">SOWEGA Building</span> United States historic place

The SOWEGA Building or Southwest Georgia Melon Growers Association Building in Adel, Georgia at 100 South Hutchinson Avenue, at the corner with Fourth Street. It was built in 1930. It is three stories tall and made of red brick, built in a commercial style. It has a roof deck and a basement. It is made of concrete reinforced with steel. Terracotta trim accents the exterior. The base is finished in marble. It features unique green terracotta watermelons in terracotta lozenges in a broad diamond, which represent the SOWEGA trademark. The third floor was remodeled in the early 1960s and the ground floor was remodeled in 1988. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce currently uses the building.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Possum Poke</span> Historic house in Georgia, United States

Possum Poke is a historic hunting retreat outside Poulan, Georgia, United States, and for years was the winter home of Chase Osborn, a former governor of Michigan, author and adventurer. It was a hunting camp. The two main buildings are "Big Poke" and "Little Poke". The "Big Poke" home was owned by Osborn, and he died there in 1949. Stone monuments on the grounds commemorate him and his longtime confidante and second wife Stellanova Osborn, who died in 1988. Though these monuments are sometimes mistaken for the couple's gravestones, the Osborns are actually buried in Michigan.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 27, 1996. The buildings are located at 716 Walnut Street. The auditorium is used as Sumner's Town Hall. The old school building is used by Worth County.
