Powers Creek

Powers Creek is a stream in northeast Butler County in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] It is a tributary of the Black River.

The stream headwaters arise at 36°54′42″N90°25′37″W / 36.9116667°N 90.4269444°W / 36.9116667; -90.4269444 and it flows to the southwest to its confluence with the Black River at 36°53′00″N90°27′07″W / 36.883387°N 90.452057°W / 36.883387; -90.452057 southeast of Hendrickson and north of the community of Wilby after crossing under Missouri Route O and the Missouri Pacific Railway. Powers Creek was named after George Powers, an early settler. [4]

Hendrickson is an unincorporated community in northern Butler County, Missouri, United States. It is located along Missouri Route O approximately one mile south of U.S. Route 67. Wilby is an unincorporated community in northern Butler County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is on Missouri Route O approximately seven miles north of Poplar Bluff. It sits on the east margin of the Black River floodplain at an elevation of 361 feet. The community of Hilliard lies three miles to the south-southeast along the Black River. The Missouri Pacific Railway passes the west side of the community along the Black River floodplain. The community lies within the Mark Twain National Forest.
