Prabodh Chandra was a freedom fighter and an Indian politician. [2]
Born at Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan) on 24 October 1911,to Satya Dev,Headmaster of a Government High School and Durga Devi,he did his matriculation from the Government High School,Gujrat,Pakistan in 1927 and his Intermediate as a private candidate in 1930 before completing his graduation and Post Graduation from the F.C. College,Lahore (now in Pakistan). An admirer of Swami Dayanand Saraswati,Subhash Chandra Bose and Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad,he was also influenced by the lives of Shivaji and Garibaldi.
Chandra started his political career at the age of 16 and formed the Multan Student Union in 1927. He was closely associated with the Lahore Revolutionary Party and was arrested in connection with the Multan Bomb case in 1929. He was first jailed in 1930 and 1936,and again from 1942 to 1945. He laid the foundations of the students' movement in Punjab,and was Chairman of the All India Students' Conference in 1936. He was also selected as the sole representative of the Indian students to the 1938 World Youth Congress which he could not attend.
Later on he joined the Indian National Congress and was a member of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He was elected a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1946. After independence,he remained Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1952,1960 and 1962. [3]
He held the august office of the Speaker of Punjab assembly March 1962 to March 1964. He served as a Minister of Education,Health and local Self Government in the Council of Ministers of Punjab. He was also a Member of Parliament from 1971 to 1977. He was associated with numerous public and Government bodies in his lifetime. [4]
He died on 8 February 1986.

The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national,state,regional,and district level. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also has several dynastic leaders. In addition to the major national parties,other national and regional parties such as Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK),Shiromani Akali Dal,Shiv Sena,Samajwadi Party,Rashtriya Janata Dal,Janata Dal Secular,Jharkhand Mukti Morcha,Kerala Congress,Jammu &Kashmir National Conference,Indian Union Muslim League,AIMIM,and the Nationalist Congress Party are all dominated by families,mostly those of the party founders.
Bansi Lal Legha,also known as Chaudhary Bansi Lal, was an Indian politician and independence activist,who served as the Minister of Defence of India and three-time Chief Minister of Haryana. He is also known as the 'architect of modern Haryana'.

After independence,Vidyalankar served as Minister of Education,Labor and Languages in the Government of Punjab from 1957 to 1962 and was a member of the First (1952–1956),Third (1962–1967) and Fifth (1971–1977) Lok Sabhas.
Bhan Singh Bhaura was an Indian politician. He was a leader of the Communist Party of India in Punjab. He served as a member of the National Executive of the CPI as well as president for the Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union. He was also a Punjab State Executive member of CPI. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1971 and 1999 from the Bhatinda seat. He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly twice as well.

The 1962 Punjab Legislative Assembly election was the Third Vidhan Sabha election of the state when the Indian National Congress emerged as the largest party with 90 seats in the 154-seat legislature in the election. The Shiromani Akali Dal became the official opposition,holding 16 seats. From 5 July 1966 to 1 November 1966,Assembly was under suspension.

Over 1966–72,he served as a Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha. Over 1972–77,he served as a Minister with various portfolios in the Government of Himachal Pradesh,principally under the Chief Ministership of Y.S. Parmar and later for a brief period under Thakur Ram Lal. He was known as a dissident of Y.S. Parmar.
