Pramod Maheshwari (born 6 May 1971) is an Indian educator and entrepreneur and currently Founder Chairman, CEO and MD of Career Point Ltd. a Kota, India-based Education Company that runs Cram school for various examinations. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

An IIT Delhi alumnus and physics teacher, Pramod founded Career Point in 1993 as a professional tutoring company from a small garage and 50 students as a very humble beginning. His company now coaches more than 25,000 students every year. [7] [8] [9] He has also set-up four private universities, two engineering colleges and numerous schools across India.[ citation needed ]

Early life

Born on 6 May 1971, as a second son to a grain trader, Pramod belonged to a traditional Marwari family.[ citation needed ] He studied at IIT Delhi.[ citation needed ] Pramod graduated in 1993 the same year he founded Career Point.[ citation needed ]

Awards and honours

Pramod Maheshwari was honoured with Star CEO Award during the 3rd BT–YES Bank SME Awards held in 2012 in New Delhi. [10] [11]

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced), is an academic examination held annually in India that tests the skills and knowledge of the applicants in physics, chemistry and maths. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a network of engineering and technology institutions in India. Established in 1950, they are under the ownership of the Ministry of Education of the Government of India and are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. The Act declares them as Institutes of National Importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance as the country's premier institutions in the field of technology. <i>Kota Factory</i> 2019 Indian Hindi-language web series

Kota Factory is an Indian Hindi-language television series created by Saurabh Khanna, directed by Raghav Subbu and produced by Arunabh Kumar for The Viral Fever. The story is set in Kota, Rajasthan, an educational hub famous for its coaching centres. The show follows the life of 16-year-old Vaibhav who moves to Kota from Itarsi. It shows the life of students in the city, and Vaibhav's efforts to get into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) by cracking the Joint Entrance Examination. It also stars Jitendra Kumar, Ahsaas Channa, Alam Khan, Ranjan Raj, Revathi Pillai and Urvi Singh in prominent roles.

Unacademy is an Indian multinational educational technology company that provides online educational platform with its headquarters in Bangalore. It prepares students for various competitive exams, as well as provides content on foundational (K-12) and skill building courses. It was founded by Gaurav Munjal, Hemesh Singh and Roman Saini in 2015. As of May 2022, Unacademy was valued at US$3.44 billion.
