Gubbi Hampanna Veeranna was an Indian theatre director. He was one of the pioneers and most prolific contributors to Kannada theatre. He established the drama company, Gubbi Sree Channabasaveshwara Nataka Company, which played a crucial role in promoting the Kannada theatre field. He has been conferred the title Nataka Ratna meaning "A Precious Jewel" in the theatre world. Gubbi Veeranna laid the foundation stone for the Kannada film industry. He established a studio, produced silent films in early days of cinema and produced good Kannada short films, He built theaters and introduced many actors including Dr Rajkumar, G.V Iyer, B.V Karanth, Girish Karnad and others to the Kannada film industry.

Gaalipata (transl. Kite) is a 2008 Indian romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Yogaraj Bhat. It features an ensemble cast consisting of Ganesh, Anant Nag, Rajesh Krishnan, Diganth, Daisy Bopanna, Neethu and Bhavana Rao. The plot revolves around three friends who, debilitated of city life, decide to spend some time in the paternal house of one of them, at a picturesque location atop a hill station. Spending a gala time there, they become romantically involved with the three daughters of an avid Hunter.
Haage Summane is a 2008 Kannada-language film directed by Preetham Gubbi. Kiran Srinivas and Suhasi played the lead roles. Music was composed by Mano Murthy. The film released nationwide on 26 December 2008.

Geleya is a 2007 Indian Kannada-language crime film directed by Harsha, a popular choreographer making his debut in direction. The script is written by Preetham Gubbi and the cinematography is by Krishna; all of whom had worked previously together for the blockbuster film Mungaaru Male. The film stars Prajwal Devaraj, Tarun Chandra and Kirat Bhattal in the lead roles with Duniya Vijay and Pooja Gandhi appearing in cameo roles.
Mungaru Male 2 is a 2016 Indian Kannada romantic drama film co-written and directed by Shashank. It stars Ganesh, Neha Shetty and Ravichandran with Shilpa Manjunath, Aindrita Ray, P. Ravi Shankar and Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles. It is not a sequel to the film Mungaru Male (2006). The film found its theatrical release worldwide on 9 September 2016, while in Karnataka, the release was pushed to 10 September 2016 because of the Cauvery water dispute. It was a commercial success at the box office by collecting over ₹20 crore in its lifetime theatrical run.

Baanadariyalli is a 2023 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by Preetham Gubbi and produced by Sri Vaare Talkies. The film stars Ganesh, Rukmini Vasanth and Reeshma Nanaiah in lead roles. The film is the first Kannada project to have shot in Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve. The film marks the fourth collaboration of Ganesh and Preetham Gubbi.
