Career

After making her debut in a supporting role in the Sathyaraj-starrer Maaran (2002), Preethi portrayed over 15 lead roles in Tamil and Telugu language films throughout the mid to late 2000s. [2] Notably, she appeared alongside S. J. Suryah in Thirumagan (2007), portraying a rural belle. [3]

Personal life

Preethi Varma was born to Bharath Kumar and Ramya. In February 2007, Preethi Varma garnered coverage in the media for eloping from home in Rajamundry to move in with her boyfriend in Mumbai.[ citation needed ] Her parents filed a missing person complaint, with Preethi later clarifying that she had not been abducted and was safe elsewhere. [4] [5] In return, she filed a complaint against her parents for allegedly attempting to push her into prostitution. [6] She later reconciled with her parents. [7]

During the period, she was working on 18 Vayasu Puyale (2007), which had a similar scene for Preethi of escaping home with her boyfriend against her parents' wishes. [8]

Naan Aval Adhu is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language horror film directed by Kona Venkat. Madhavan, Shamita Shetty and Sadha featured in the leading roles, while the film had songs and score composed by four music directors including G. V. Prakash Kumar and Dharan. A remake of the Hindi film, Darling (2007), the film was initially launched in 2006 as Ram Gopal Varma's production, but was eventually sold to Storm Pictures after Varma, Venkat and Madhavan had gone through creative differences. During post-production, the unit experienced further difficulties after the producer had failed to pay technicians, and subsequently the film did not have a theatrical release.
