Premikudu is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Kala Sundeep. The film stars Maanas and Sanam Shetty in the lead roles. It was released on 17 June 2016. The film was dubbed into Malayalam with the same name.
The film marks Maanas' solo debut; he previously starred in Kai Raja Rai (2015). and Green Signal (2016). [1] The film's title logo was launched in August 2015 at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad coinciding with Maanas's birthday. The event was presided by film producer Damodar Prasad, who was the chief guest. By August 2015, 60 percent of the film's shoot was complete, with the shoot primarily taking place in and around Bangalore. [2]
The film's music was composed by Vijay Balaji and Paadu Shantha Paadu. The film's soundtrack was released on 13 March 2016 at a ceremony held at Rock Heights in Hyderabad. The previous day, a single track was premiered at an FM station. [3] [2] [4] [5]
The film released on 17 June 2016. A reviewer from film portal 123telugu wrote "for a small budget film to be successful, it should have at least an[sic] unique story line or an interesting narration", adding "sadly, Premikudu does not have any of those going its way". [6] A critic from nettv4u noted that the film was "boring and outdated", but noted Maanas "acted decently and did justice to his character of selfless and ignorant youth", while Sanam "plays the character of the rich girl and has pulled it beautifully with her looks and attitude". The plot follows a police officer who embarks on a mission to take down a corrupt politician. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's music and Jayanan Vincent was the cinematographer. Inspired by a film character, Venkataratnam, a policeman, calls himself Gabbar Singh. He is posted in a village where a local thug wants to join politics and also lures his stepbrother to join him.

The film stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay with Sathyaraj, Nadhiya Moidu, Sampath Raj, Adithya Menon, Subbaraju and Brahmanandam featuring in supporting roles. The film was tentatively titled Vaaradhi, but was later renamed as Mirchi. The film opened to positive reviews from critics and was one of the highest grossing Telugu films of the year 2013.

Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the film revolves around a former district collector imprisoned in a haunted house. At the same time, she is interrogated by law enforcers investigating a politician they suspect of corruption. Principal photography commenced in June 2016 in Hyderabad, and the film was released on 26 January 2018 in Telugu and Tamil along with a dubbed Malayalam version. The film is a commercial success, grossing over ₹26 crore. With Bhaagamathie, Anushka Shetty emerged the second Indian actress after Sridevi to have a $1 million grosser at the US box office. The film was remade in Hindi as Durgamati (2020).
