Preppy or prep is a subculture in the United States associated with old private Northeastern college preparatory schools. The terms are used to denote a person seen as characteristic of a student or alumnus of these schools. Characteristics of preps in the past include a particular subcultural speech, vocabulary, dress, mannerisms and etiquette, reflective of an upper-class upbringing.

Robert Emmet Chambers Jr. is an American criminal and convicted killer. Chambers was dubbed the Preppy Killer by the media after the August 26, 1986, New York City Central Park strangulation death of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin, for which he was originally charged with second degree murder. He claimed the death was accidental and the result of rough sex, and later pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the end of his trial.

Leaning on the preppy trend of the early 1980s, the game follows prep schooler Wadsworth Overcash who must navigate the hazards of a busy country club to retrieve golf balls. The gameplay and screen layout borrow heavily from Konami's Frogger, with lanes of traffic at the bottom and a river at the top, and it contains some of Frogger's trademarks such as floating alligators. Reviewers recognized the game as derivative, but called the music and visuals some of the best for Atari 8-bit computers.
