Presidential Task Force on Power

The Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP) [1] was established by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's administration, in June 2010, to drive the implementation of the reform of Nigeria's power sector. It brings together all the agencies that have a role to play in removing legal and regulatory obstacles to private sector investment in the power industry. It also has the mandate to monitor the planning and execution of various short-term projects in generation, transmission, distribution and fuel-to-power that are critical to meeting the stated service delivery targets of the power reform roadmap.

The PTFP collaborates closely with various ministries and agencies that have specific contributions to the reform process, including the Federal Ministry of Power, [2] the Federal Ministry of Finance, [3] Ministry of Petroleum Resources, [4] the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), [5] the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), [6] the Bureau of Public Procurement, [7] National Gas Company Limited (NGC) [8] and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to mention a few.

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, reconstituted the PTFP Board, with Engr. Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack as Chairman, on September 5, 2012.

The Presidential Task Force Board of Directors is charged with setting and maintaining the direction of the Task Force. They are responsible for implementing PTFP's mandate while providing overall leadership and its strategic direction. All Board Members have been instrumental in setting policy for the Task Force as well as ensuring it has all the necessary resources and capabilities to achieve its objective.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the oil corporation through which the federal government of Nigeria regulates and participates in the country's petroleum industry. The NNPC business operations are managed through Strategic Business and Corporate Services Units (SBUs/CSUs) in diverse locations across Nigeria. In that case; The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) initiated a recruitment scheme and since then, until date the NNPC recruitment have been a yearly scheme.

The Power Holding Company of Nigeria, formerly the National Electric Power Authority was an organisation governing the use of electricity in Nigeria. The company runs a football team, NEPA Lagos. It represents Nigeria in the West African Power Pool.

Rilwanu Lukman was a Nigerian engineer who held several ministerial positions in the Nigerian Federal government before becoming Secretary General of OPEC from 1 January 1995 to 31 December 2000. He died on 21 July 2014. On 18 December 2008, Lukman was appointed Minister of Petroleum Resources by Nigerian president Umaru Yar'Adua, holding office until March 2010.

Eyitayo Lambo was appointed the Nigerian Federal Minister of Health in July 2003, holding office until May 2007 during the second term of the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo.

After her A Levels, she proceeded to the University of Ile-Ife, Nigeria for University Education where she read Political Science and graduated with first class honors. In 1981, she acquired her Master of Science Degree from the School of Oriental & African studies, University of London, UK. She did her Youth Service in NBC, Port Harcourt and then began her working career as Lecturer in Political Science at the Rivers State College of Education.

Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) is an independent regulatory body with authority for the regulation of the electric power industry in Nigeria. NERC was formed in 2005 under the Obasanjo administration’s economic reform agenda through the Electric Power Sector Reform Act, 2005 for formation and review of electricity tariffs, transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion of policies that are efficient and environmentally friendly, and also including forming and enforcing of standards in the creation and use of electricity in Nigeria. NERC was instituted primarily to regulate the tariff of Power Generating companies owned or controlled by the government, and any other generating company which has a license for power generation and transmission of energy, and distribution of electricity.

Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo Nigerian politician

Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo is a Nigerian politician, Igbo political leader and peace-maker. He served as the Special Advisor on Technical Matters to President Goodluck Jonathan and Secretary/Member of the Presidential Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P) Committee until 1 August 2013. Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack Nigerian technocrat, statesman, politician

Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, OFR, popularly known as Beks, is a Nigerian civil engineer, technocrat and public servant. Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Nigeria)

The Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources is a part of the Federal Ministries of Nigeria that directs petroleum resources and its activities in Nigeria. It is located at Block D, NNPC Towers, Herbert Macaulay way, CBD, Abuja.
