Zrinko Ogresta is a Croatian screenwriter and film director, professor of film directing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and a member of the European Film Academy in Berlin. Praised for their strong visual style, well articulated mise-en-scène and innovative storytelling, his films focus on the anxieties that lurk behind the well cultivated burgeois facade of the characters, using their emotional and psychological fractures to bring to light the complexes that haunt the society in general, while subtly analysing social and political forces behind it.
Marshal Tito's Spirit is a 1999 Croatian film directed by Vinko Brešan. It was Croatia's submission to the 73rd Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee.
Yugoslavia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 with the song "Hajde da ludujemo" (Хајде да лудујемо), composed by Zrinko Tutić, with lyrics by Alka Vuica, and performed by Tajči. Just Between Us is a 2010 Croatian drama film directed by Rajko Grlić starring Miki Manojlović, Bojan Navojec, Nataša Dorčić, Daria Lorenci and Ksenija Marinković. Bloodsuckers is a 1989 Croatian vampire comedy horror film directed by Dejan Šorak. The film was archived by the Croatian State Archives. Bloodsuckers was poorly received by critics and at the box office at the time of its release, but has garnered a following. It is also remembered for the film debut of Ksenija Marinković. Photographed by artist Goran Trbuljak, most of the film was shot on Zagreb's Gornji Grad to achieve a Gothic visual style.

The Joint Council of Municipalities in Croatia is an elected consultative sui generis body which constitutes a form of cultural self-government of Serbs in the eastern Croatian Podunavlje region.
