Puma (established 2005 in Trondheim, Norway) is an experimental jazz band. [1]
Puma's music is described as energetic and intense, and they have played a variety of concerts internationally and in Norway. They have been held up as one of the greatest talents in the new Norwegian improvised music. [2]
In 2007 Puma began a collaboration with sound artist Lasse Marhaug, [3] for the celebration of Grieg anniversary 07. [4]
Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje is a Norwegian vocalist and composer.
Lasse Marhaug is a Norwegian musician who primarily works in the field of noise music but frequently drifts into other areas such as improvisation, jazz, rock and extreme metal. Marhaug has also been involved in creating music for theatre, dance, art installations and video art. Active since the early 1990s, he has participated as a performer and composer on over 200 releases in CD, vinyl and cassette tape formats. He currently resides in Oslo.
Stian Westerhus is a Norwegian guitarist known for his experimental style, explored with keyboardist Øystein Moen in the bands Jaga Jazzist and Puma and with Sidsel Endresen, Nils Petter Molvær, Arve Henriksen, Jan Bang, and Ingar Zach.
Even Kruse Skatrud lecturer at the University of Oslo, a Norwegian Jazz musician, composer, Music arranger and Orchestra leader. He is the son of musician Harry Andersen and Marit Skatrud Andersen, married to singer-artist Anine Kruse Skatrud and son-in-law of the major Norwegian Contemporary composer Bjørn Kruse.
