Qi Shuai (born February 13, 1988, in Anda) is a Chinese speed-skater.
Qi competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for China. In the 500 metres she finished 23rd overall. [1] [2]
As of September 2014, Qi's best performance at the World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships is 21st, in the 2011 500m. Her best performance at the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships is 21st, in 2011. [3]
Qi made her World Cup debut in November 2010. As of September 2014, Qi's top World Cup finish is 7th in a pair of 500m races in 2010–11. Her best overall finish in the World Cup is 14th, in the 2010–11 500m. [3]
Maria Aaltje ("Marianne") Timmer is a Dutch former speed skater specializing in the middle distances. At the 1998 Winter Olympics Timmer won a gold medal in both these events.
Tucker Fredricks is an American speed skater and the US record holder in the 500 meter event. He competed at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 Winter Olympics.
Christine Nesbitt is a Canadian retired long track speed skater who currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. She won the gold medal in the 1000 metres event at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. She had previously won a silver medal in the team pursuit at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. She is the current world record holder in women's 500 metres with the time of 36.36 seconds set in Salt Lake City on 16 November 2013, and held the South Korean record on 1000 metres from March 2009 until January 2024.
Elise Christie is a British former short track speed skater. She was coached by Nicky Gooch and she specialised in the 1000m event. She is ten times a European gold medallist, including two overall European titles in 2015 and 2016. In the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam she won world titles in the 1000m and 1500m events, along with the overall gold, marking her as the first British woman and first European woman to achieve such a feat.
